Fired less than 50 rounds and dropped the pistol appros 18" onto a carpeted floor in my bedroom. The drop wasn't far and it didn't seem to land hard but it was enough to cause the LDA trigger linkage to lock the postol up. Had to contact Para about a return for repair. Seems this item is rather fragile. As much as I like the LDA trigger I'm thinking that there may be a downside when it comes to durability. One more problem like this and I'll have to change my mind on the LDA. Para said to return for repair. I don't know if there will be any charge but in my opinion there shouldn't be. Any hand gun should be able to stand a minor bump like this. If not, then it isn't suitable for the purpose it's intended for, or the mfg. should provide a warning, fragile handle with extreme care. This may be a fluke so I'm not going off the deep end yet, but it should be noted that there may be a durability problem with the LDA trigger.

Just received my Para Carry SS today. Right out of the box it doesn't compare to my older model Para Companion C7.45. My Para companion doesn't have the sharp edges on the slide that this Para Carry does. Also the trigger is much smoother on the Para Compaion and the Companion seems to break with less force than this Para Carry. The Para Carry has a little different slide return guide system that I don't like the looks of as well as the one in the Para Companion. The thumb safety on the Carry model larger and feels much easier to manipulate than the one on the Companion. Over all my impression of the Carry as Compared to the Companion is that it isn't as nicely made, lacking in some of the finer detail. I haven't fired the Carry yet so I will have to reserve an opinion in that regard. I thought it would be useful to give an opinion based on appearance and gener feel before actually fireing it.

Let me preface this by saying I never thought I would even be looking at Para for my next handgun purchase. I was looking for a nice CCW 1911 to replace my Glock 30 as my preferred CCW. My requirements in order were the following: Extreme concealment as I neighbor a not so CCW friendly state which I frequently travel to Reliability Accuracy Overall Look and Feel Price My first thought was the Kimber Ultra Carry II. While this might be a great gun the one thing that kept holding me back was the "locked and cocked" style of the 1911 in general. As I said I have been using a glock which I felt safe carrying around. I know plenty of people who carry 1911s around like this without issue but I could not get over the exposed hammer. I was not even aware of the "LDA" handgun concept until I started reading some 1911 forums. Once I saw this model I was sold. The LDA snag-less hammer design combined with the very small and concealable frame won me over. I received the pistol and my first impression was WOW. I know glocks are great guns but man does this thing look and feel a lot sexier. After the first range test I can say this model is VERY accurate and reliable. 300 rds with 1 cleaning in between and not one misfire/jam. I am so impressed with the quality and accuracy of this model I plan on getting a full size 1911 from Para in the near future. As far as the model's conceal ability goes. With a Galco Concealable Belt Holster you cannot even tell its there. Its about the same weight as my 10 round glock but much slimmer and shorter.
