Bought the HP22A on Saturday night, picked it up Thursday at noon. No tax and only a $15 transfer fee. Very simple process. Nice feel to the gun. Disassembly was easy after using a screwdriver to press the takedown lever. Safety mods found on youtube were easy. Now the mag drops free regardless of safety position. Assembly takes practice to keep the recoil spring from shooting across the room. A slim piece of metal or plastic to hold the spring down while installing the barrel works nicely. 30 rounds fired, no problems so far. Very little recoil and it's accurate. Very impressed so far, may have to buy another. At $129 this pistol is a great deal. It shoots like a much more expensive pistol.

I can't say enough good things about this little pistol. Just bought my second one from Bud's. I purchased the range kit last year (a really good deal, by the way -- you get a lot with the kit). The longer barrel is great for target shooting, and (surprise!) so is the short barrel. VERY accurate to quite a ways out. So, I ordered just the basic pistol this time to use for CC. The shot groupings are within a couple of inches, and almost dead center every time.
Like the older pistol, the new one shot flawlessly out of the box -- not a single hiccup, and I used three different types of ammo. I think this is an extremely reliable pistol for the money, and it's SA/DA, which you don't find on a lot of pistols these days. Great little pocket gun. I would recommend getting an extra magazine or two with the finger extension, makes the pistol fit in your hand much better.
A very fun pistol, especially at this price.

The odd thing about this pistol is that it seems to shoot pretty well. No fte's or ftf's with various types of ammo. It has pretty good heft for a small gun and the price is less than I've spent on magazines for some other guns. Everything else about the gun says "rough", from the way the magazines go in and out, the way the slide feels and how the controls work. Not a gun you'd put on display but hard to beat for something you wouldn't mind tossing in the tackle box.

Gotta love this little gun. Just bought a second one for my mother. She has a plate in her wrist so needed something with little recoil and accurate. This fits both bills. I have one that I carry around our property and these guns have been a reliable gun. I do clean this after any use. I have only good things to say about the HP22A from my experience.

I probably don't review like most other people. When I pay $135 for a gun, I rate it like a $135 gun. For $135, this performs rather well.

It had 1 problem that I don't really consider major, seeing as how I was able to fix it myself- and I am NO gun smith. On the back of the slide, where the hammer makes contact, there is a black plate. On mine, the black plate sat a little too low and as a consequence the slide would jam backwards every once in a while as the plate lip would catch on the hammer. I slowly ground down a very shallow notch in the middle of the plate protrusion (for the hammer) with a rounded file and the problem was fixed in no time.

I was actually fairly worried when taking my first several shots with the gun. I had several FTE's (even after fixing the slide). I had just grabbed a handful of rounds out of an open box of .22's in front of me. Found out later that this gun, mine at least, hates Winchester SuperX cases. When using CCI, Blazer, Remington it works perfectly.

It's a bit of a pain to learn to take the slide off and get it back on (spring is a hassle and WILL shoot off at nearly the speed of a .22), but it's a $135 gun! Some people would complain about some of the inconveniences like that- I applaud them for being able to make a $135 gun!

Did I mention it only costs $135?!
