I have looked and looked, even on the EAA websites owners manuals to see what the Bounty hunters are made out of and I never get a clear answer, I’ve heard that the magnums such as 357 and 44 are steel but I’d like to know for sure. Also heard that the cheaper blued version is alloy and the Nickel plated is steel. Anybody else out there know? Same goes for the Windicator?

Justin, in the 2022 EEA catalog, it states -- "The Bounty Hunter in .22LR/22WMR are alloy frames and cannot be sold in Il, SC, WI, or other states and cities with frame melt laws." So .22LR /22WMR have alloy frames, while 45LC, 45MAG, and 357MAG would have steel frames. Have a great day!

Justin, I own this exact pistol in 357 Magnum, nickel plated and can guarantee you the frames not made out of steel. I just took a magnet to it to check and it does not stick. It looks to be made out of alloy. It is a good revolver but a warning if you do buy one add loctite to all the screws and tighten them. When I first got the pistol was dry firing it and one of the screws fell out. So checked and almost every single screw was loose. Other than that its a good revolver for the price. Hope this helps.

I love this gun. Yes, I did some work on it. I replaced the hammer spring and I swapped out the grip with the same grip on that's on the 4.75" EAA Big Bore Bounty Hunter revolver. The 7.5" revolver comes with an oversized grip. I wanted something more like a Colt Single Action Army, so I replaced the grip. All of that was relatively easy to do. The finish is nice and this revolver has some heft in your hand, making the .357 Magnum loads more manageable to shoot, and that makes .38 Special loads a cake walk. It's not a Ruger Vaquero, sure...but, you're not paying Ruger prices. And, did you know that these revolvers are manufactured in Germany by Hermann Weihrauch (HWM)? They are solidly built.
