The Desert Eagle 1911G is a great pistol! Looks very nice made, shot 200 rounds and not one problem.Oh yeah I have not used the factory magazines because I like the Chip McCormick ones better. They seem to be just right for any 1911, Buds was SUPER FAST at shipping. I highly recommend buying from buds!

This pistol is remarkable for the price. Fit and finish are outstanding, as tight as the Colt XSE. Trigger is smooth, crisp, and light. Zero was spot on from the factory, seven rounds in the center of the bull at 7 meters and on steel at 67 yards. Occasionally the slide wouldn't lock back after the last round was fired, independent of magazine or ammo, so I swapped for one from a SR1911 and solved the problem. And the SR1911 soldiers on with the DE slide stop. This pistol now has over 1000 rounds through it.

I was so impressed that I bought another, and it is the equal of the first, with no slide stop problem. At the range, both DE shoot on a par with a Colt XSE and S&W 1911E. If I were to recommend an improvement, it would be to flush cut and crown the muzzle like the 1911E.

The Desert Eagle is a sleeper! There is nothing to upgrade unless one wanted match sights or personalized grips!

I was super excited to get this D.E. 1911g. I was gonna go ahead and fork over the extra couple hundred and get a colt but I chose the desert eagle instead. The overall appearance of the product was great. There is however one problem, the front of the slide gets scraped by the base of the pistol when cocked back, and it immediately caused a long scratch on the front left side of the slide. There were no factory burrs so it appears to be a hair off alignment. But with that aside, the action on this baby is great. I took it out 3 days after I got it and fired off 200 aguila fmj 230grain rounds, 50 hornady zombie rounds which are 165grain, and also 50 Remington 185gr hollow points. The Aguila had some kick but not to much, the zombie rounds made it feel like I was shooting a 9mm. beautiful action, not one single failure to eject with any of the ammo. I had a heck of a time cleaning it after. Other than the fact that the slide is scratched and theres not a lot I can do about that this is an awesome pistol and I would recommend it to anyone with around $700 to spend on a good 1911. I have owned a glock 19, and 21. and a lot of revolvers and I even owned a beretta 92fs, however I prefer a good old 1911 any day. Maybe next time I will spring for the colt. Israeli made weapons are excellent however you just cant beat a good old fashion American 1911 colt.
