I love this revolver. It is handsome to look at and recoil is minimal with 357 mag loads due to its solid grip and weight. The only problem is it shot low on the target. I carefully filled down the front sight until I was printing center groups on the target at 25 yards. The surprise was a get-to-gether with family. I set up a target and allowed all family members to shoot the Ruger Vaquero. Four out of four of my family shot high. If I had not filed the front sight we concluded they would have all hit center on the target. Instead they all shot outside the black at the 12 o clock position. I am the only one who shoots center because of my filed down front sight. I do not know why this is so. I do not know why I shoot differently from 4 other family members?.All I know is I can hit what I aim at and it is my pistol so it really doesn't matter if everyone else shoots high with my pistol. It is just a perplexing issue I hope to understand in the future.

Ruger makes high quality and great looking firearms and I have several makes and models. This one is my new favorite. It looks and shoots great. Accurate right out of the box. With a great gun manufacturer and Buds prices you can't go wrong.

I love this gun; I put elk horn grips on her and she is beautiful!. Shoots great out of the box but a trigger job won't hurt. If your looking for a saa and can't afford a Colt, do not hesitate to buy the New Vaquero. Buy one any way; they are very durable and a fine looking revolver ta boot!
