The follower is apparently useless. It's hard to tell whether it's the inside of the magazine itself or the follower that's the problem, but regardless, It doesn't work. My XD speed loader would not work on this mag without some modification. Once I got it working, the first 5-7 rounds went in smoothly, then the problems started. After 6-8 rds either the follower gets cockeyed or the inside of the mag is just to coarse to allow the rounds to slide down. Every 3 or 4 rounds it would require lots of shaking and banging to get everything to spring loose, at which point 1 or 2 rounds would fall out. It took me a good 30 minutes to get it loaded the first time. I kept thinking to myself, "It just has a few kinks that need to be worked out." I went down to the range and never succeeded in firing 2 rds in a row. Either the mag failed to feed a round up high enough to be chambered, or it pushed it in at an awkward angle which caused the gun to jam. My XD has had about $600 in aftermarket upgrades put on it and NEVER fails to fire. Seriously, with me as the shooter (some shooters have limp wristed it and had 3 FTL) this gun has never malfunctioned after almost 3,000 rds. Ever the optimist I decided to empty it, clean and lube it and try it again. Same problems. Clean and lube again. Same problems. Suffice it to say that this was a complete and total waste of money for me. Live and learn I suppose.
