A:John, no real difference other than the "Grips" and the Barrel Length. They are almost identical otherwise.See 2 more answers | -

A:Debra, the only way to know the date of manufacture is via serial number. You can try calling Buds to inquire on this at (859) 368-0371 (available 9AM to 9PM EST Monday through Friday). In any event, Ruger will correct the pistol regardless. https://ruger.com/dataProcess/markIVRecall/ -

A:Go with the Hunter. All of them are a pain to takedown and reassemble though.See 3 more answers | -

A:If the serial number begins with 500 or higher and the safety is marked with a white dot "S" it should be either the newer model (500) Series or the updated trigger version (White dot "S") This is what Ruger says anyway. I am waiting for the 500 series Competition version to buy.See 1 more answer | -
