I shoot all handgun calibers and have a great assortment to choose from however, If I could ONLY have a single handgun, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE I WOULD CHOOSE! Can't say it any plainer then that. This is absolute functioning beauty!!!!!

My first purchase from Buds. I love this gun, and it deserves 5*, and I will give it 5 but I would have to say I like the 45 better? The gun is a very large frame, fun to shoot with friends, but too large for any purpose of mine other than just enjoying it at the range! It shoots great, not real loud, and the weight is spread out very nice! You really have no idea it is such a large gun, It simply feels small in your hand, and I do not have meathooks. The gun has all its weight distributed to where it simply feels small in your hand. Very little recoil, if any at all. The grips on it are factory, they feel good and there is no need for any changes. If you want something to have fun with, and a top of the line house watch dog, this is it! This is a beatiful gun and shoots like a dream. The trigger is one of the nicest pulls I have ever tried. The weight is perfect, the sights are spot on, and the recoil is non-existent. I am so happy with this gun- then again it's a Sig!

I have carried this pistol on duty now for almost 6 years. In that time I have yet to have a single malfunction from this pistol. The only criticisms I have are personal in nature and have nothing to do with the function or effectiveness of the weapon. This pistol is quite heavy even for a duty weapon. I don't carry this off duty. Although this weapon has a stainless finish you have to keep it oiled on a regular basis if you are in a wet or humid environment, especially the trigger, hammer and the magazines. The wood grips while very nice looking are thick and do nothing to enhance the grip. I immediately removed mine and replaced with the stock plastic grips. Despite these minor issues i still love carrying this weapon.

The basic Sig P226R is an excellent gun. The P226 Elite Stainless is even better. Extremely accurate for an out-of-the-box gun and relentlessly reliable, the Elite makes an outstanding home defense gun - powerful, rock steady, with natural point-ability. This and my P226 Elite Dark are my two favorite guns in my collection..

Where to begin...This saga really began a few months ago when I decided I wanted to get rid of my springfield armory xd-9. It was nice, but never felt right in my hand, and after owning it for some time, the idea of a striker-fired handgun became less and less desirable. After many weeks of rigorous research online, I came to the conclusion that i wanted either an H&K USP or a Sig Sauer of some kind. After reading numerous testimonials online on how law enforcement felt about Sigs, and going back and forth between H&K and Sig, I decided the next handgun i'd be purchasing would be a Sig. The smoothness of the Sig trigger, and just the overall fit and finish of the handgun was too good to pass up. Then it became an issue of what model and what caliber. I wanted something that was durable, which initially drew me towards the P220 Combat. However, after taking a closer look at the P226 Elite Stainless, i was hooked. Not only is it a beautiful handgun (no comparison to the combat), and I don't care what anyone says to the contrary, but there is *nothing* like the simplicity, durability, and presence of stainless steel - and this handgun has it in spades. Stainless slide + stainless frame + Sig Sauer legendary quality equals durabilty and workmanship like nothing else. Polymer framed handguns always seem top heavy to me, and even sigs with stainless slides and alloy frames seem a bit that way. Not the P226 Elite Stainless, however. While it is a *beast* of a handgun when you first pick it up, very quickly you realize how damn well the thing is balanced. As far as caliber is concerned, I was initially drawn to 9mm for the obvious reasons...inexpensive ammunition, controllability, mag. capacity, etc. However, after careful consideration I decided .40 S&W was the way to go. Going with the .40 gives the shooter the option of going to .357 Sig with only a barrel change, and to 9mm with a barrel from Bar-Sto Precision (which, from what i've heard are considerably more accuracte than factory sig barrels) and a magazine swap. While the ammo is more expensive than 9mm, finding the best deal on .40 ammo was easy. I would absolutely go through bud's again. Their prices, selection, and pretty high level of customer service make them very tough to pass up. Just be sure of what you're buying before you click the "submit" button, and be absolutely sure that your local FFL dealer is on the ball when it comes to the transfer process.
