Bud's was great. Simple ordering system. Fast delivery

I have a new H009 that I purchased from Buds. I purchased the Henry because of the extremely high reviews about quality and because the gun is 100% American made.

I fired 1 box (20) shell through it yesterday for the first time.
I have found several issues with the gun.
1. there were 3 finger loose screws in the receiver area. One was the screw that the lever pivots on. It had backed out visibly a good three turns.
2. The brass tube jammed on shells when loading. I looked at the end of the tube and it was paper thin. It looked like when the tube was made the end was short material or rolled foil thin. I cleaned up the end with a small file and that helped somewhat..
3. The band that holds the barrel and tube tobether at the front site has issues. If the bottom screw, which clamps the band together is tightened, the band squeeses the outer tube so hard that the brass tube will not move. It came from the factory with the bottom screw little more than finger tight, so as not to over squeeze the outer tube.
4. With the ghost ring sights, I had to move the rear site as far as it would go to the right to get a shot within a 3" circle at 40 yards. The factory adjustment had the gun shooting 8" high and 8" to the left. Which may be normal.

Oveall I love the gun, but am highly dissappointed in the assembly of this rifle. It would not seem that the gun had a final inspection.
I don't know what to do. I have tightend all the external screws. I could probably fix the tube to work satisfactorily. Especially if I got a better made brass tube. And I'm going to scope it, so the sights aren't that big of a concern.
My main concern is that, given the external issues in assemply that I have found, I don't know if I trust the internal mechanisms and assembly?????

I have an email in to Henry. so we'll see. If Bud's had a return policy this gun would be on the way back. So, I guess I'm stuck with whatever I can work out with the factory. . . .

Nearly $600 and I don't trust the gun because of poor workmanship. I am really dissappointed.

Thankful to have this sweet lever action carbine in hand. This craftsmanship on this rifle is top-notch. I couldn't believe how fantastic the lumber was on the stock, and how flawless the action felt. That said, I did have some trouble at the range with the sight picture, and it took a while to hone-in my shots at 50 yards, but the rifle itself had zero malfunctions, and looks to be a real keeper.

As for Buds, princes can't be beat, that's for sure. I followed this rifle for days and was able to nab it when it was $20 less than normal. So that was nice. I do like the option to use e-check, but it does frustrate me that you have to wait a little more than a week to pick it up at your FFL that way. Otherwise, this is my 2nd Buds purchase, and both have been positive experiences.
