The 1911 is a single action gun, and should be carried with a round in the chamber and safeties engaged. 1911-style guns are the iconic single-action semi-automatic. Pulling the trigger on a 1911 drops the hammer on the firing pin, and that's it.

I ordered a Springfield "Garrison" in stainless a few months ago, I wouldn't even fire it, they sent me another one. I'm on my third Tisas, the quality and value are far superior to most anything out there. No MIM, I've been told the rockwell hardness on Tisas exceeds many higher end gunmakers. No better value in a 1911.

This is an excellent purchase for the price point. Very nice model 1911 with many of the upgrades you would expect, and some missing (by that I mean I appreciate the Series 70 design) I hesitated to purchase feeling this was too promising, but it is the real deal. I've found Tisas to be a quality manufacturer before and they did not disappoint here. Two each 8 round magazines. Cleaning brush and disassembly tool. Padded case and instructions. Buds service was excellent as always.

Short story: great gun. Long story: I've had three other 1911's over the past 30 years, all Colts. This one has become my favorite. It feels as good as the Colts, operates just as smoothly, and has been completely reliable over 300 rounds so far. And this is shooting it as it came. No tear down, no cleaning. My only complaint: the rear sights are hell to get adjusted, even with a sight adjustment tool.. Tightest fitting I've ever run across. Accuracy: I don't know if it's the guns or if I've just gained experience but this one is consistently more accurate than any of the Colts.
