I bought this to pair with a Ruger Blackhawk Vaquero in .44 mag. The long octagon barrel looks nice but the stock is a plain Brazilian hardwood with a cheap stain that will come off in the rain. The curved butt plate is brutal on my shoulder with full power .44 magnum rounds. This gun has a lawyer safety on top of the bolt that blocks the firing pin that I do not like (cost me a hog a couple of years ago) but there are aftermarket kits available to remove it and replace it with a button head pin to conceal the hole. I replaced the rear buckhorn sight with a Skinner peep sight. Overall, the gun functions fine for what it is, a Winchester 92 clone. I do like it for hogs and deer at 100 yds and under. I ding it a star for the stock finish and annoying safety.

Have fired about 300 rounds from this and has smoothed out a lot. added a Marbles tang sight and shot out to 200yds with no problem. Next one will be in a 357 cal.

Very nice rifle. Hoping to harvest a deer with it. Classic looking rifle. It does turn heads with the heavy Octagon barrel.

Good service from Buds. This is a tight well built rifle for the most part. I gave it a 4 star because of the rear sight. When I fired the rifle the recoil cause the ramp on the rear sight to slide forward and the rear sight dropped to the lowest position. It took me a few rounds to figure out why I couldn't hit the target. I took a file and deepened the notches in the ramp which appears to have fixed the problem. Otherwise the woodwork and metal fit are good. Recoil is less than expected. It is a fairly heavy rifle.

Very satisfy with the Rossi it shoot well It does kick a little with full power 44 mag but will 44 special its a dream. The only bad thing is the medal on the butt stock it can bite in your shoulder and recoil pad with solve It. Buds service was great as usual.

Read a bunch of reviews about the Rossi R92 before I purchased it. Every review I read came to the same conclusion, a great overall value. Take into account that is has a 24" full octagon barrel, that demands a premium from other brands. After some great customer service from Bud's I got this thing and it is not a piece of jewelry, but the wood was fitted well and evenly finished. If a guy would linseed oil or lacquer the wood it would look more refined. It performed flawlessly. No feeding problems and I was picking off broken bits of clay pigeons at 50 yards with ease. The Rossi bolt safety still leaves something to be desired but I have got to agree with all the reviews I had read, that this gun, for the money, is a great overall value.

Be careful with Rossi some tea you get a gem and others a stone well I got a stone on this one. Forearm is way oversized and now lose after first round. Magazine retainer is loose and does not fit against barrel and a small scrape at the top of theagazone tub, should have refused it but did not, my fault. Function is smooth and feeds and ejects fine along with accuracy which is nice. Buds shipping was fast and smooth as usual. This exsperince will not discouraged from buying anther Rossi 92 just buyer be ware is the only advice I can give.

I've had the rifle only 4 days so I've only fired about 30 rnds thru it. They ranged from low and mid power cowboy lead loads both 200 and 240 gr and a max load jacketed solid. All rnds dead on target. Hit a 4"x6" fence post dead center at a 100 yrds with the jacketed round and it went thru it easily. A wild Hog doesn't have a chance out to 150 yrds with the hot load. This is a bada** rifle, for a pistol cartridge, and now since the price has dropped in the last 20 days, I'm getting 40 bucks back ta boot thanks to Buds Buy Safe guaranty. I would highly recommend this rifle. There is just something really cool about an octagonal barrel, it just screams "The Wild West". Guess my next purchase will be this in stainless steel. 1 happy camper. 5 stars on this rifle.
