CDP pistols have it all. Night sights, ambidextrous thumb safety and 30-lines-per-inch checkering on the front strap and under the trigger guard. Match grade barrel, stainless steel slide and double diamond rosewood grips. They even have a 7075-T7 aluminum frame with KimPro II finish and Carry melt treatment for rounded and blended edges that will not snag. Five .45 ACP models weighing just 25 to 31 ounces are offered. The Ultra CDP II with a 3-inch barrel is available in 9 mm as well. Kimber makes the finest 1911 pistols manufactured today, and nowhere is quality more important than in a pistol carried for personal defense.

Absolutely beautiful gun. Fit and finish is very nice. With that said Kimbers motto should be "better to look good than to shoot good." I waited a couple months before writing this review. I did the Kimber 'break in' period 150 rounds at a time, take home clean and repeat. Well this gun is a pretty terrible. I had 4 failure to fires out of the box, after finally getting it to actually fire i have not had this problem again, yet. After about 30-40 rounds i had many failures to return to battery. I tried different mags a ton of hoppes, different ammo with no luck. But i trucked through 500 rounds convincing myself along the way that its all just part of the break in period. Well ive had enough and I think its very safe to say that this is by far the worst 1911 you can buy. My Remington R1 and Colt XSE never have these problems. Its such a shame too because it is a beautiful gun. Im giving it 2 stars only because it looks and feels good.

Buds Guns hop is Awesome! Now back to the review. The Kimber Custom CDP II is a great feeling gun that looks good and feels great when you shoot it. The reason I'm giving it a three is because it has had SEVERAL failure to feeds and I mean SEVERAL!!!! Bottom line is the gun looks and feels great but for this kind of money I expect my guns to function flawlessly right out of the box. Also Kimber has a limited warranty, That says it all for me..... Anyway Im sending the gun off to be fixed and not to Kimber. Save yourself some frustration and buy a Springfield Operator
