Great pistol for the price. A little light which doesn't help with recoil and ammo hard to find. Nice pistol

VERY disappointed with this purchase. The gun fires smoothly, great weight balance, easy recoil for such a large round, (.454 Casull) however, this came with a major defect. The cylinder is not lined up properly with the barrel, to the point that copper is left behind on the backside of the barrel, jamming the cylinder in place. Unfortunately I had already fired all 5 rounds before the cylinder got stuck. There is no adjustment, and this is the first Taurus firearm I've EVER had an issue with. I have a 1953 Taurus .38 special that still operates like new. I think and hope that this is just a fluke as Taurus makes fabulous revolvers. This is the most expensive Taurus I've purchased, and the only one with a defect. I will contact Taurus and hopefully resolve the issue. I'll update the review after this issue has been handled.

Its a beast!! I first shot this weapon over 15 years ago and still remembered the tremendous kick it produced.
You can't shoot it without smiling. You can take the "Bull" to the range and everyone will congregate to your lane to see what you are shooting.
The guy next to me was shooting a 44 magnum and when I offered to let him shoot it he declined.
Back to the pistol. Its heavy and over sized so no conceal and carry here but it makes you feel like Dirty Harry.
Solidly built weapon. I had a little problem at first using the double lock system to open the cylinder. I am also going to upgrade the sites to truglo as the factories
leave a lot to be desired. I also love the lifetime warranty that comes with all Taurus guns .It is truly a hand cannon!!

THE POOOWWWEERRRRR...love this revolver. Skipped a 357 Mag and not going back. The stock grips helps the recoil. I shoot 454 casull 300 grains muzzle pushing 1690fps as well as 240 grains muzzle pushing 1950fps.this also shoots 45 colt.No issues. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND 410 SHOTGUN SHELLS. The GEM 2 version of this gun was built for bullets not bird shot. Bought it went to the range shot 8 cylinders worth of ammo. One down side is ammo prices at the time of this review. 90 rounds cost me $120. This is not a semi auto and you need to respect the POWER. Every round I shot was worth the price. Bought this Taurus revolver and went to try it out. Out of five cylinder positions, three would not except bullets, one cylinder was OK and the five was as it should be. This is not the first time I have had this exact same problem with Taurus revolvers. Sent it back to have it repaired, and it took Taurus six weeks to repair it and have it returned. Still had one cylinder that I could not seat the bullet. That same day sold the revolver for a little over half what I paid. I will never buy a Taurus again.

Definitely a big powerful handgun. Well balanced and although it is .454 the recoil isn't ridiculously crazy with a good strong two handed grip. Their are holsters out their for it such as Unlce Mike's or redhead brands. Shoots .454 and 45 Colt. Love the gun overall and recommend to anybody else. If your using this for hunting...judging what this did to a milk jug we had set up at the range....im pretty sure what ever your hunting will be obliterated.
