It is 100% Vinyl coating protects the guns finish from damage but is very durable, and is custom formed wire fits securely around Delta Ring. The Delta Ring Tool has a welded steel bracket for durability even with stuck or broken Delta Rings.

Was disappointed in this Wheeler tool, bent up badly and was unable to remove Delta ring. I ended rebending it into an hour glass shape in order to remove ring and cut my hand trying to get it to stay on. Ended up and purchased another one made by NcSTAR which is much thicker.

Works great for what it's designed to do. However, it does not work very well if your handguard partially covers the spring. It does work, it's just a little harder to get a good grip on the spring.
