I ordered the PPX in October. I absolutely love this gun! It is my first gun but i have shot other guns. The recoil on the gun is not bad at all. I love the trigger its such a smooth triggerand very light almost to light which is why I don't really want to carry it. It is a bigger gun and alot bigger than the PPQ. But I have had no problems. Took it to the range as soon as i got it without cleaning it and put 50 federal 115gr rounds through it and did not have one issue even without cleaning. Recently put 300 more rounds through it winchester and federal 115gr and eats them right up no problem. Even fired a few hydrashock 124gr through it and same thing. I paid $388 and wish I would of waited for the recent price drop but oh well best bang for your buck. Unfortunately its not well known yet because of its "ugly" look but I think its beautiful. Stop thinking about buying it and do it. You won't regret it.

Very interesting, very well designed sidearm. Say what you will of MIM but the fact is there is a much better understanding of the technology and applications compared to when it first appeared in firearms back in the 90's. As for the gun, I've run 200 rounds through it straight out of the box. 100 rounds of WWB and 100 rounds of Tula steel case. No malfunctions, no jams, and it shoots directly to point of aim at 7, 15, and 25 yards. I consistently shot a large ragged hole out of each target just above and to the left of the bullseye with a few flyers here and there. Naturally the flyers were a bit further apart at 25 yards but nonetheless everything remained on the 16"x16" paper

The defining achievement of this sidearm is a consistently accurate and reliable service sized 9mm pistol at the $300 price point, give or take. There are very few guns on the market that can do this, and none of them have the PPX's very unique trigger. It's more akin to a 1911 trigger, except with longer travel, but a reasonably short reset. There are two drop safeties and an external hammer in lieu of any kind of external safeties. So long as one observes proper trigger disclipine and safety rules, this is entirely acceptable. Other niceties include a very well made magazine holding 16 cartridges. The slide is finely machined without tool marks and finished in Tenifer with three dot sights on top. This gun is also available with a stainless steel slide, as well. The grip shape is quite jarring to look at in the beginning, but it feels great in my large hands and points very naturally. The molding and stippling is a good balance between grip and comfort without being the slightest bit abrasive, and after awhile its otherwise homely looks start to grow on you. Unless you just can't stand polymer guns on general principles, overall I highly recommend this sidearm.

i am not military or police, i'm a gun enthusiast predominantly for sefl defense and politics, e.g. strong 2nd amendment supporter. I don't hunt or do practical shooting or competitions. I qualified with a handgun at Lethal Force in the 90's and went to a Sig course for handguns. I'm probably a reasonably competent pistol shot. I am a GLock fan. They are simple, reliable, I think they look cool, they are easy to strip and maintain. I have a number of sizes and calibers. My favorite is a 26. I qualified @ LFI with a ParaOrdnance 45 just to give you some idea of my skill level.
This Walther caught my eye as it is essentially dirt cheap. Between Buds and mmy FL fee iwas $375 and that's hundreds less than a Glock or Sig or HK, and probably less than an S & W. I did a lot of research online and it looked like a reasonable piece. I have been blown away by it. Yes, it has no thumb safety or trigger safety but I don't carry it and use it essentially at the range. Every time I shoot this at 15 or 30 feet I put 90% of the rounds damn smack in the center of a man sized target. It's smooth, soft, good recoil, reliable, and accurate. It makes me a FAR better shooter than I am. When I use the Glock I am equally accurate, although I think it is the sights, but i have to say, this gun @ $340 was a steal. I saw it at Cabela's for $449 recently. Now, on Buds, at $299 it is even better. Thrilled with it. Case, lock, 2 magazines, plus there is (or was) an online rebate with a holster and additional mag. Big fan.

I have heard mixed feed back about the Walther PPX, don't believe all the hype. If you have medium to large size hands, this gun will fit like a glove. It gets on target quick and you can hit whatever your aiming at. The trigger feels better than my Glock, and it is hammer fired. I took this gun out of the box with out cleaning it, went in my back yard, and fired 16 rounds rapid fire without one flaw. This gun is extremely accurate and you be able to hit anything your aiming at. The only negative thing about this gun is the magazine. It is very well made mag, but you can hear some bullet shake when fully loaded. I loaded the bullets into the magazine slow without putting a lot of pressure downward on the bullet as I pushed it to the rear, and this seemed to cure it. Try this a few times and once you get the hang of it, it wont be nothing to worry about. Other than that, this gun will shoot with guns costing 4 times as much. I love the way this Walther PPX feels in my hand and have been carrying it more than my Glock. For the money you will not find a better more accurate gun.
