Great firearm and great service. My Grandfather served in WWII and carried one of these for a while, so I had to have one. The attention to detail is definitely there. This is set up like the early M1 Carbines, so the safety and sights are the Gen 1 type. Thank you Bud’s for carrying the CA compliant version for those of us who unfortunately are forced to go that route. Can’t wait to shoot it this carbine!

This was the perfect shooter right out of the box. And made beautifully too. Excellent fit and finish. No break in period, it just works. The only weakness was 10-round magazine - it is a little short for the cartridge. I looked for one of these for several years; it’s a steal if you can find it.

I have purchased many guns from buds over the past 10 plus years ,and Buds has always been great! Now for the review of the A.O 30 cal M1 carbine. I received the gun yesterday
I have to say ,the gun is a disappointment. Fit and finish is poor for a rifle listing for $1036. The top fore stock over laps the stock on the right hand side by about 1/16". I had to sand that flush,that revealed that it is not walnut at all,as advertised,but a white wood (birch). I had to stain the sanded area with walnut stain. Some of the parkerized finish is flaking off around the blade sight and the receiver. There seems to be a small crack on top of the action where its stamped "30 cal. carbine". I am currently talking to A.O about that . The wood seems like it has no finish at all ,simply stained . I applied boiled linseed oil to it and it drank it up, looks much better now. I have to say I own two Rock Island 22 cal rifles ,a M20p costing $135,and an M14 costing $120. These rifles are made in the Philippines,and the quality is way,way better then the $770 A.O M1 carbine. I have always wanted a M1 carbine ,but for the money, a Ruger mini 14 or even a decent AR would have been a much better value. Maybe I should have known better as I once owned a A.O 1911 and it was not much good either .

Let me first say I have recently purchased two of these AO M1 carbines from Bud's. My first purchase arrived from Buds well packaged and complete. The metal work was compatible with the purchase price, the stock was nicely finished with the exception of the right side of the heat guard which was very sharp and extended over the stock by 1/8 to 3/16 inch. I was able to rectify this by sanding and refinishing with boiled linseed oil.
The second was ordered on 9/2 and received on 9/12 well packaged and undamaged. I was expecting another 15 round magazine but it arrived with a 10 round. The finish was a polymer poorly applied, matted on the right side, and very rough. After removing the finish and finish sanding I found a nice walnut stock easily finished with a hand rubbed boiled linseed oil treatment.
I expect to purchase another or maybe more M1 carbines and other firearms in the near future and will continue to use Bud's easy order process and continued contact until delivery.

I have not been able to shoot the Carbine yet. California waiting period is 10 days. I will pick it up tomorrow April 26 at 3;15 PM. I was really impressed on how easy it was to order and the list of FFL dealers. The one I chose is one mile down the road and when I selected it the FFL part of the form was filled out automatically. If you send me this email again in about a week I will be able to tell you how it shoots.

A must have. No problems at all 100rds no issues at all. A piece of history.
