Tremendous shotgun, like all 870's, fires both slugs and buckshot to point of aim, very useful weapon. Buds is great as always as well!

Best slug gun I've ever owned. Decided to replace my old Remington with a new one and give the old one to my father to use. Couldn't be more happy. Accurate right out of the box. Punching pop cans at 75 yards!

After a few years of use and plenty in Scouts' hands ~whisked away from their in-home video games to hit on REAL clay targets outdoors, this Rem 870 Expr.Deer 12ga is a proven specimen. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat! A proven shotgun! It hardly failed and that wood finish complement its looks/finish.

Great product for the money. This model comes with the magazine tube indention's, so if you want to add an extended tube you have to file those down so the follower works. Kind of a pain but worth it. The fit and finish was very good. I am well pleased. Shipping was 10 days from Kentucky to Texas and that was with that bad storm and the roads were shutdown for a day or so. Cant really complain about that. Thanks Buds I will be back!

This shotgun is a great "all-purpose" deer gun. It has nice rifle sights, and at 100 yards I can put 5 slugs in a 4" group. Not rifle accuracy but for a smooth bore barrel pretty darn good. Also - using Federal Premium 'flight-control' buck shot, this patterns well out to 70 yards. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, quality shotty for deer hunting or even personal defense, the Remington 870 Express 12GA w/20" IC bore is hard to beat. And of course, Bud's customer service was first-rate.

I bought this shotgun several months ago through Buds, and am now researching for one suitable for my sister-in-law to purchase. In a nutshell, I'm completely satisfied with this 870 Express model for applications in home security, and short range deer hunting. I've shot several 2 inch 50 yard 4 shot groups with Rem Sluggers through this weapon. I'd be confident with it to 75 yards+. The improved cylinder bore on this model works well with Fosters. I favor 1-Buck through this shotgun when being used for home security...that stuff is "rude"... 5 rounds of it should be plenty. I should note that we live in a very rural environment... For the money, this Rem model is an excellent, very flexible choice, and is suitable for upgrading to the owner's taste. I do have a couple 20 gauge shotguns around which are better for small game hunting.
