.22 target or field pistol. The Ruger Mark II uses .22 Long Rifle
ammunition in a detachable, ten-shot magazine that is standard on all
models. (Ruger 22/45 models use a different ten-shot magazine.) The
magazine is equipped with a follower button designed to provide easy
insertion of cartridges. All models have a safety that positively
locks the sear. The bolt can be manually operated with the safety in
the "on" position for security while loading and unloading. For added
convenience, an automatic bolt stop is built into the design; if the
magazine is in the pistol, the bolt on all Mark IIs locks open
automatically. All Ruger pistols come with a high-impact lockable case. Ruger make Mark II models perfect for target
competition, small-game hunting, plinking and handgun training.
