For the money this pistol is hard to beat. The triggers have greatly improved from the original sigma series. I like and trust this pistol as much as any of my past glocks, XDs, Sigs or FNs. I have fired 250 rounds without any problems. The action is slick and the gun carries and handles nice. The 2 16 round mags are stainless and remind me of the trusty springfield xd mags. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

So I've had the sd9 ve just over a month and have got about 200 rounds through it only because of the difficulty of getting 9mm ammo. And it being well over priced at most shops.. but in the 200 rounds I've had no malfunctions at all. I've shot a box of pmc, wwb, s&b and also some old stuff a buddy of mine had in a drawer no problems at all. I would recommend this gun to anyone looking for a reliable 9mm pistol.. I'm actually thinking of getting this gun in the 40 caliber.

I owned a S&W Sigma SW9VE for a few years. I sold it last year because I just had too many pistols. I actually liked the SIGMA as it was always reliable--accurate---never malfunctioned in over 500 rounds. I now own the M&P9 and the M&P9C (along with Glock 17 and 19 and Ruger SR9 and SR9C). I purchased the SD9VE more out of curiosity than need. What pulled me in was that compared to the old Sigma it was very attractive--they did a fine job on the looks of the gun----it certainly makes my Glocks look like the fat ugly one at the end of the bar----- looks has never been a Glock characteristic.

I ordered the gun from Bud's where I have purchased 6 handguns over the past few years (including through the Police Supply). As usual the customer service was nothing short of superb-----always kept me informed every step of the way and delivered rather quickly given today's busy marketplace

I inspected the SD9VE and found no flaws--it was actually very very clean. Everything seemed to function that way it is supposed to function. I took it apart and cleaned and lubricated it. Today I went to the local indoor range and fired 100 rounds through it with no malfunctions. The pistol was as accurate as it could possibly be--the sights are apparently well aligned right from the factory. The night before I exercised the trigger for a while doing some dry fires to loosen it up------it seemed a little stiff and gritty but manageable. After firing about 50 rounds the trigger smoothed out and it felt real good----a little longer pull than my M&Ps--but the trugger pressure appeared nearly the same--seems they have in fact improved from the original Sigma-------I do not think the average shooter needs to do anything to make trhis trigger better--just shoot it for a while.

I have to say that dollar for dollar this gun is a great value--it has everything the average home defense person needs. I have had over 23 years of military service in the USMC and have had more than my fair share of of nop-recreational shooting--I think you can trust your life to S&W SW9VE

Very great firearm. I was concerned that it would be too big because of how many rounds it holds but it is a very good size. Not too big for a concealed but also not too small to be intimidating. Shoots very good with minimal recoil. I would definitely recommend this gun to anyone looking for an entry level 9mm. The price and quality of Smith and Wesson was the major reason I purchased this gun and I was not disappointed.

Another great deal and service from Buds. Had me a little worried when gun sold out until Buds great staff filled me in on a few things about the layaway and how it worked. Best dam gun shop online hands down. I just picked it up today so i will update on the gun later. This is like my 10th purchase without one problem.
