Finally broke down and purchased a Ruger 10/22. I looked around to see what was 'out there' and found the Model 11104 International from Talo at Buds Gunshop Online. Apparently this must have been a small run because they seem relatively rare. The FFL it was sent to really liked it. Fit and finish are superb, the Mannlicher stock is a joy to behold. Sort of a mini-me version of that rifle I lusted over as a youngster for hunting Cape Buffalo with. Funny thing happened taking it apart when I got home, removing the screw in front of the magwell and fully removing the front barrel band screw, I had to lightly tap off the band to pull the receiver/barrel out. There IS a Cape Buffalo head burned into the inside barrel portion of the stock, really made me smile. The basket weave on the fore grip and stock are very deep with great attention to detail, the border surround is crisply done. The stain really sets it off nicely. The butt-plate has the Ruger symbol and the same basket weave on it molded in. Talo did a great job executing this model, if you like the long stock to the barrel end look this is IT. The gun handles and swings up beautifully, the stock is perfect for my 6' height and long arms. It shoots very well and groups respectably (ahem as good as I can shoot anyhow), the magazine is a masterpiece. Thoroughly pleased with this rifle, it's a keeper. Buds was great...it only seemed like...forever LOL. In less than a week it was in my eager hands. First time ordering, won't be the last.
