The Springfield Armory GI.45 is a well-made handgun. The workmanship seems to be consistent with the original sidearm it is intended to duplicate. As a replica of the original GI issue .45, it is no more or less accurate. Like the original, I believe it to be intended for close quarters use. Home protection, camp gun or other utilitarian functions seem to be the bread and butter of this pistol. For the price of just over $ 500.00, it is a good buy for those seeking a powerful gun with a sense of history. That is the one point that rankles me. Although it is a faithful reproduction of the original, it is made in Brazil. I really wanted a .45 that would reflect the history and tradition of the service pistol I knew in my younger days. Right or wrong, a foreign built version of this particular firearm just rubs me the wrong way. Springfield does not indicate the origin of this weapon anywhere on their web site. Only after you purchase and unpack the pistol do you see the stamp on the right side above the trigger. I don’t blame Bud’s for this. In fact, Bud’s has proven to be just about the best place to purchase firearms. The service and customer support is second to none.

Good looking pistol and well made. Fun to shoot, lots of stopping power. Put 150+ rounds through it and no jams. Can't beat springfield quality. Great piece of history. Does come with U.S. Stamped grips

Follow up on the gun - does not like to feed hornady hollow point rounds. Feed one round but all others after this jammed. May have to have the feed ramp polished. FMJ rounds function fine in the weapon.

Beautiful pistol, clean lines, feels great in my hand. The wood U.S. hand grips are great to look at and functional. Gun functions flawlessly when fired and takes both FMJ and JHP rounds with ease. Dealing with Buds was fantasic once again, great customer service, fast shipping - paid on Friday and had the gun in my hands today (Tuesday). I see this same gun for sale at least $100-$150 more and then there is shipping on top of that. Buds - no shipping cost. Anyone who buys elsewhere should have their heads examined.

Dealing with buds was easy great transaction was sent daily updates on the order status everything went great except they forgot to give the ffl my phone number which delayed me from picking up my gun by a couple of day. I the gun was awsome took me back to my day in the US Army in which I qualified withe the 1911A1 45. I love the feel of the gun and the power it possess when shoot. The springfield quality and value is evident. It shot well when I took it out.
