Since purchasing this 38 super Kimber in June of 2025, it has been a dream to shoot. I’ve put 400 rounds through it and no problem whatsoever. Bud’s has such a great selection of handguns and the best prices around. I will be back for more. Thank you all at Buds for such great Customer Service.

Like most Kimbers, the barrel lock up is solid and slide to frame fit is tight. After the first range trip, I discovered that a burr on the lower lugs of the barrel had damaged the slide stop pin. Had to send it Kimber for repair. I was not satisfied with Kimbers repair (that’s a discussion for a different place) I ended up purchasing a new barrel myself and now it’s fine. Overall, I’ve had great experiences with Kimber but this one did have an issue. I imagine this was an isolated incident and doesn’t reflect the majority of these Pro Carry HD models.

Great price and great firearm. Customer service was fast and very helpful. Shipping was quick. Love shooting this, Kimber produces very fine 1911's.

I currently own 1/2 dozen 1911 platforms from original 1943 model to this Kimber from all different manufactures and I can tell you this is one of the tops 1911`s that I have. The fit & finish inside and out is superb. This is my first Kimber & will not be my last. I`m very happy with the performance & would highly recommend. Thank you, Gary, NJ.....

I had a couple of these in the past and foolishly sold them one time or another. This is a great pistol in all calibers, but 38 super is a special round. It is accurate and just a pleasure to shoot. This pistol is not only very accurate, but has one of the best triggers. I have not measured the pull weight but there is not an ounce of noticable creep, the trigger adds to the accuracy. Great finish, nice heft and in my opinion, just a great pistol.

Leaving an honest review, this Kimber is a very solid, well built gun. I am impressed with how good of a shooter it is. So far 500 rounds of various brands, no malfunctions, recoil is much less than any 9mm full size that I own. I have owned many colts and they all have had multiple malfunctions out of the box. I like this gun and it’s my first kimber.

As always, dealing with Bud's is a real treat. Excellent customer service and quick shipping. This pistol is my unicorn. I love 1911s and .38 Super. I do not care to spend three grand on a pimped-out Colt or two grand on a double stack race gun. I had a couple of failure to come to full battery issues on the first two mags of FMJ I ran through the pistol but light pressure on the rear of the slide fixed that each time. I had no problem when I switched to Sig Sauer hollow points and no problem when I went back to ball ammo. Other than that little hiccup, this is a fantastic pistol and if Bud's gets them back in stock, I'll probably buy another one.
