The DB380 differs from most small modern pocket autos. Most have a hammer action, but the DB380 is striker-fired. It has a positive mechanical firing pin block for safety, and the twin action bars and striker action result in a very smooth and relatively light trigger pull. The square profile slide and disassembly system give the DB380 a Glock-like appearance. (It looks like a baby Glock.) The DB380 has a locked-breech action, and a striker that is set by the retraction of the slide. The trigger is made of steel, and has a smooth face for comfortable operation. The magazine holds six rounds for a total loaded capacity of seven, and the magazine catch is made of stainless steel. Another nice feature of the DB380 are the sights: I can actually see the sights on this pistol well enough for them to be useful." -- Jeff at Gunblast

Finally got to test it at the range today, great conceal carry gun. Used 4 different kinds of ammo through it and no misfeeds or misfires, very pleased with it so far.

As an addition to the last review, I got a tad under 10 oz when I measured it on my analog scale I have here. 9.87 to be exact.

On to my review. I loved pretty much everything about this little pistol. It felt just great - very solid, the grip actually worked very well (don't let the near-straight angle fool you - it works!), and it just felt really nice. The trigger is long, but quite crisp. The sights are very usable. It looks great. It comes in a usable hard case. It is a Florida based business (I'm a Floridian).

Unfortunately, that is where the pros end. My first session, I used Prvi Partizan ammo. My fault - it is horrible, horrible ammunition. Never use that stuff in this pistol. Second time and since then, I've used Remington UMC green box from WalMart. The second range session was bliss. 50 problem free rounds. I was feeling pretty good at this point! Then, it started...

FTFeed was the issue. It would often fail to feed. Happened quite a bit the third time. Blamed what I thought was maybe a grip problem. Third time, went back with a super firm grip... and still, FTFeeds, although not as many. I went home, cleaned it and lubed it extremely thoroughly, removed a chunk of loose plastic from the bottom of the front sight, and racked the slide about 100-150 times. I was able to cycle several magazines' worth of ammo through it (without firing) by hand successfully - that was very good.

Went back to the range, and... not good. An average of two failure to feeds *every* magazine.

At this point, I've spent too much time and ammo/range money trying to get this to work. I will contact DB for service, but I am not optimistic. If they are unable to pay my shipping, I'll just have to sell it for a loss (with full disclosure of the pistol's issues)... assuming someone out there wants to buy it.

It's too bad. I really, really wanted to like - no, love - this pistol. I couldn't. It kept letting me down.

And before someone asks, yes, it was thoroughly cleaned and lubed between each range session.

Haven't taken the opportunity to go out and shoot this yet, but by all inward and outward appearances this "mouse" gun looks to be a very high quality & precision firearm. The internal mechanism looks to be very well made & functions very well. It appears to be about 1/2"- 3/4" longer than its competitors but it has a nice feel and balance to it.

It strangely resembles a Glock in appearance and mechanical function. It could almost be called a mini-Glock.

I'll add to my report (if allowed) as soon as I take it to the range and fire a few rounds thru it.

One problem area I discovered is the reported weight of this gun. It specs out to be 8.8 oz (with empty mag inserted I assume), but when I weigh mine I get about 2 oz heavier at 10.8. My scale is correct too, because when I weigh other handguns, they come in as they're spec'd out to be. Shame on DB for mis-reporting the true weight of this firearm. Had it not been for that, I would’ve given a 5 star rating.
