This is my 6th purchase from Bud's. This one took a little longer to ship than the others, but I guess business at Bud's is good. The Winchester 338 Mag arrived in pristine condition, no problems there. I was a little surprised at the size of the end of the barrel. Being a magnum rifle, I would have expected more than 1/2" OD. I was going to have a muzzle brake installed, but cannot find anyone who can thread a barrel that thin. Wall thickness in only 0.131". I have a Knoxx stock coming for it and we will see how well it dissipates the recoil. Suffice it to say it is a great looking firearm and I am anxious to shoot it. Hoping for accuracy at ranges upwards of 1000 meters. The 338 Win Mag has very high energy levels at long distances. Looking forward to Hog kills at very long distances. Mounted the Barska 6-24 X 50 mm IR long range sniper scope on it yesterday. Will add more weight with a bi-pod. More to follow after we break her in at the range.
