I bought this rifle as a budget option for 100 yd competition. The bolt is a little loose but tight lock up. The stock is nice but the action doesn’t get solidly mounted in it and I’ve already bedded it to fix that. Now the good, I added an 8x32x56 scope and at 55 yards 9/16” groups with old federal high velocity and a makeshift rest. I’ve only put 20 rounds through it and can’t wait for the snow to melt to stretch it out at the range with some better ammo. 4.5 stars for the money.

Very very happy with this savage 22lr. Will be using it for 50 yard shoots.

Another tack driver delivered from Buds. This rifle is smooth as silk to run, and holds an amazing group with the right ammo. The stock is amazing and provides that extra weight for precision shooting. As always Buds comes through with flying colors on service.

I am late in posting this evaluation of the Savage Mark ll BTV 22lr heavy barrel rifle since my FFL had to hold the rifle for 10 days in accordance with Callifornia laws. This was my first purchase of a firearm sight unseen over the internet and I could not be happier. Bud's answered all my concerns before the purchase and provided periodical status until it was delivered. Bud's delivery service had the rifle (in excellent shape) to my FFL in only three days from Tennessee to California. I was especially pleased with the fact that the selling price was the lowest I could find anywhere, well below the MSRP. Relative to the Savage BTV, out of the box the floated barrel passed the dollar bill test. Using my Lyman trigger pull gage, the trigger pull was just at 2-1/2lbs, the lowest pull the trigger is designed for so no adjustment was necessary. After just one outting and 150 rounds of standard velocity ammo, my best 10 round group was 5/8" @ 50 yards which I know will improve with more time on the trigger. I will definately will use Bud's for future firearm purchases and recommend others do the same.

A very nice gun for the price.

The same great Savage MKII action in what I believe is a Boyds' Lightweight Thumbhole laminate stock with a built in Monte Carlo cheek riser in the Nutmeg coloration. It has a bull barrel and if you do your part, the gun is stupid accurate for a 22LR.

I received the rifle in about three days after I placed the order. After I received the gun I put a Charles Daly 6X18X40 Scope on it .I fired maybe 20 rounds, getting it zeroed after that It puts CCI 40gr subsonic almost one on top of the other, at fifty yards. Due to the cold weather I have not shot it a lot. I am very pleased with the rifle, and how Buds handled the transaction The laminated stock is a beauty, the trigger came set,I would guess 2to3 lbs. The thumb hole stock is amazing. I really like this gun, It looks like I could have paid twice what I did. Buds' gun shop was as usual, awesome, and 20 to 50 bucks cheaper than the local shops near me. I will purchase my next gun from Buds'.
