Bought it on 12/21/15, had to send a money order to get the cash price of $595. Arrived to my FFL 3 days after they received the money order. Great fast shipping. Got a lot of email to inform me on everything. If I had to complain about something, the slide has a little bit of damage under the Smith&Wesson logo, not enough to send it back but noticeable sense its right by the logo. Now to the Shooting portion. Gun shoots great, shot around 175 rounds of Blaster Ammo 115grain and no failures. Everyone says you have to replace the stock trigger but I got rid of all the grit with shots fired and 200ish dry fires. There are also posts on numerous forums saying it had bad accuracy, and a crap trigger that added to the bad accuracy. S&W have redone the barrel and changed the rifling to a 1/10. Don't take what you read on the internet to seriously you could just be reading stuff from inexperienced shooters that concluded its the gun fault that they are getting bad groups. First range day I was shooting about 75 rounds and everything was shooting to the left. First I was like crap everyone on the internet was correct but I came back two days later after watching more on grip techniques(60-70%weak h./40-30%strong h.) my groups were much much better. Trigger control over sight alignment as Jerry Miculek says. Overall great gun and great shipping and good communication. Glad I bought it before the price went up $56.

I bought one of these for my wife for her first full size pistol, and ended up loving it so much that I had to buy another one for myself. The balance is just wonderful with the 5 inch barrel. Construction just reeks of quality, especially the barrel. The optics mounting system is so simple yet durable. The one point where this gun has any contention is the trigger, and in my opinion is not a problem unless you're a trigger aficionado. My wife's M&P9L has a very weak reset, both audible and tactile, but was extremely short. That being said, it didn't bother me. Train with your firearm enough and you don't need those assistance points to know your specific trigger's operation. My M&P9L has a slightly stronger reset, both audible and tactile, while being a hair longer. Being a long time Glock user, this seemed to have a slightly more natural feel for me, and I prefer it. It's about half the standard Glock trigger in audibility and tactility, and I love it immensely. The stippled grip on these compared to the standard M&P line is a god-send, they really should make it standard. I never give anything a perfect score but this is just one of those exceptions. Finish is great, function is flawless, handling and balance are wonderful, it's just a great great pistol. Now if only I could find a 5-ish inch threaded barrel for this bad boy I could run 'im suppressed.

Every one seems to point out the obvious about the M&P trigger. So to set this issue straight. The Gun God Jerry Miculek says the truth in settling the issue, sic "hey guys, don't replace the trigger in your M&P until you have shot 500 rounds through it". This is a true statement. The trigger becomes more comfortable as time goes on. This is a lot like a new car. You want to break it in. Now I must say I didn't do that on my PRO CORE. I wanted the Flat faced trigger and Forward facing sear kit. It was a great addition to the gun. It improved my accuracy by 30%. That is the reason to upgrade your trigger; to take it to the next level, not because the M&P trigger is lacking, because it not as bad as everyone complains about, if they let it wear in.

That said, Buds, Thank you for your Help in getting this gun. I love it and I love The Sitemark Micro dot, on it. Yes a $100 microdot, and it works well . its not what I want in the future, but it does the job, until I can afford a trijicon. This weapon is now a great gun for an old guy who cant hit the target anymore. I appreciate all the technology, which is putting me back into the game. I am just as accurate as I ever was, thanks to M&P. Glad out American Gun Company continues to innovate. I cant wait to see S&W continue to mount it's relevance come back. They are on the verge of being selected by the US army contract, and they are well deserving.

Thank you Buds and thank you S&W

Was very extensive in my research for a pistol that accepted an optic. After coming to rest on S&W it came down to choosing 9mm or 40 S&W. Once I picked 9mm it took a week for me from order to arrival at my FFL. Once my RMR came in the mail installation was very simple along with dialing the sight in took 10 min. Took it to the Range and range 300 rounds through it and can honestly say at 15 yds (furthest I could be on this range) I was SHREDDING the 10 ring out of the targets. The raised sights allow excellent co-witness in the sight itself as well if you have a suppressor.People can hate on 9mm all they want but this pistol blew my mind and have no qualms making it my primary carry and home defense pistol. If your stuck between FN, Glock or S&W, go with S&W. you will not be disappointed.
