I love this rifle, it's an attractive firearm and will stack my hand loads into small clover leaf groups from the bench at 100 yards. My only "rub" is the trigger. Mine had a LOT of creep and felt like dragging your feet in gravel. This rifle DOES NOT, have the LC6 trigger but instead it has the VT two stage trigger hence there are no "real good" replacement models to be found. I did replace it with a Rifle Basik and it help a great deal but still isn't "ideal". My friend bought the same model rifle in 6.5 Creedmore and the factory trigger in it was perfect , so I guess it was just "luck of the draw" . To sum it all up great rifle fantastic shooter, I just wish it had an LC6 trigger so I could buy a Timney replacement or someone would make a good trigger for the rifle!

I wanted some time with this gun before I reviewed it. I have had it for about 3 months now and absolutely love the gun! Mine shoots great, with factory 40grn winchester varment x it will touch 3 shots no problem at 100yrds. It is a tack driver with that ammo, even cheap 55grn factory shoots MOA. The fit and finish on mine was flawless, very rugged feeling gun (which I expect from a ruger). The design is your typical no nonsense ruger design with the droped floor plate and simple to operate bolt. I topped mine with a meopta meopro 3.5x10x42 and it fit great with the rings supplied. Very nice that ruger ships rings with the gun. I would call the barrel on this gun a medium contour, its heavier than your typical sporter barrel but is not too heavy to carry around the woods while coyote hunting. Everytime I have this gun out around people I get lots of compliments on it, the Ruger really is a nice looking gun with the laminate stock and stainless. Do understand this is not a light gun however, I don't have an issues hiking a few miles with it over my shoulder so its not particularly heavy but if your looking a light weight rifle for hiking long distances when calling coyotes this may not be your gun. Overall, im extremely happy with my purchase, I can shoot this gun as well as any other gun in my collection. Still getting used to the two stage trigger, but this is my first two stage. I would highly recommend this gun to anyone who asked about it. As always I had no issues with buds!

Gun shoots well. However, mine came with a very large burr on the breech face. It would scrap brass off the casings and build up until the next round would jamb in the breech requiring a tap of a rubber mallet on the bolt handle. Obviously this got past Ruger QC. I called Ruger and they told me to take it to the nearest gunshop. However, the gunshop wanted to charge me to ship the gun because I didn't buy it from them. Ruger seem complacent. I did not get a good feeling over the phone that Ruger was going to accommodate quickly or cared. The girl I spoke with was awful so I just fixed the gun myself. I solved the problem by grinding a light bevel in the breech face (it was flat from the factory) with a 1/2" metal burr ball and used a small file on the remaining burr. The burr/dent was actually quite large. The tools cost me ~$40, money well spent compared to rolling the dice on Ruger customer service. As far as the gun features are concerned, the stainless bead-blast finish is far too fragile. The metal finish mars easily so take care not to scratch it. The magazine binds on the action BADLY. I had to dremel out and file a sizable amount to clear it of binding on the action. Also, why hasn't Ruger moved up to a one-piece floor plate? I knew going in that it was still a two-piece design but it still surprises me Ruger hasn't upgraded the bottom metal design on their "flagship" design bolt gun. The barrel has a traditional hunter crown and mine is only fair-good in quality. I'm sure I'll cut in a new crown at some point down the road. My final grievance is that the stock is a pressure point/pressure fit design. This makes zero sense to me considering the gun has a slightly heavier contour barrel and a strong laminate stock. I ended up opening the barrel channel to free-float the barrel and bedded the action. The two-stage trigger takes getting used to but it is actually a very good trigger. The trigger came well adjusted and breaks ~2.5lbs. I'll leave it alone for now. I really liked the concept of this model but I think Ruger failed in a few areas of execution and quality control. Now that I've got all the bugs worked out I expect this to be a great gun moving forward. Considering how fragile the finish is I may get the gun finished by Robar at some point down the road.

What a great gun! This rifle is extremely accurate with a great feel. Ruger makes quality rifles and this gun backs that up 100%. This rifle is a great looking as well. Bud's was awesome to deal with as usual and the price was the lowest I could find anywhere.
