My Dan Wesson Specialist (blued version, not stainless) arrived in absolutely perfect condition from Buds. Comparing costs ($1,536 delivered when I purchased this model) to the current Gunbroker prices for this same model reveals that Buds provides substantial savings, at least $100 and up to $300 plus from what other retailers are selling this top of the line model from CZ for.
Comparing this pistol to an Executive Elite Ed Brown I purchased in 2011 the quality is clear. The Ed Brown had an incredibly tight action and while the DW Specialist was very tight it was not as tight as the EB. I haven't had a chance to take this beauty out as she's been a safe queen due to my work schedule but I expect it will not disappoint. The only down side I have ever read about this particular model (if you can call it that) is that the extended mag well (which is nicely done by the way) tends to shoot itself a little loose after a few hundred rounds. This is easily solved by a bit of blue loctite if necessary.
The price point of this 1911 with light rail is a pretty amazing bargain compared to other models from which I've seen at about $2k. CZ is doing things right since taking over the Dan Wesson franchise as I also have a Dan Wesson Guardian (commander style with bobtail grip) which is also absolutely amazing.
If you are looking for a full size 1911 with all the bells and whistles including a light rail you will not be disappointed and at the current price point of $1,700 for this model I would venture to say you CANNOT find a better bargain that also matches the quality components used to bring this beauty to the marketplace.
