This gun is not worth the price of $600.00 , maybe $75.00 for the weight of the metal !!!!!!!!! Went to the range with it for the first time , it fired great, was balls on dead accurate, after the third time it was loaded,(16 th round) it would not open so i could eject the spent rounds. Had to have the gunsmith take it appart to get the spent rounds out so i caould transport it back home. it seemed to be ok, so off to the range i went again, low and behold, the same god damn thing happened ! Worked great until after the 16 th round was sp[ent, and it would not open again..... I told my wife screw it,so back in the box and off to taurus it shall go.. $600.00 dollars is $600.00 and add the case ,ammo, range fee, and the tip for the guy who tried to solve the problem, your looking at about $700 maybe $750.....As far as im concerned, its a good looking peice of crap...If i wanted a piece of crap, I could have got one out of my back yard !!!!!!! im not happy at all !!!!!!!!!! Taurus had better honor what ever kind of repair plan they have, Dont get me wrong, I have a 357 taurus that work fine, and i would trust it anytime, any where. The 44,is on my sh@@@@@@@@@ t list as of now...........Problems wright out of the box......come on ...who knows when ill get it back,or if I even want it back......I hope they get it wright , and fix this situation A.S.A.P.

I have owned this one for a few years now and it is one of my favorite hand guns. Yeah, it's heavy but it is expected to be. It is a pleasure to shoot if you know how to do so properly. I carry it when I elk hunt in Montana in case a grizzly comes along.

Got mine on Dec 21, 2012 and I just love it. I must admit I was a little hesitant to shoot the first time fearing kickback would be tremendous, but, with the ported barrel it was truly a joy to shoot and accuracy was amazing. I'am well satisfied with the gun and hope I can pop a few of the feral hogs that we have here in Texas! Would reccomend if your looking for a high caliber revolver!

The quality of this gun must very, you read good reviews and some bad ones. Mine is kinda one of the bad ones. At the range I tried four different types of ammo and with all four brands the empty shells stuck in the cylinder and had to be pressed out with a wooden dowel. Two of the six chambers on the cylinder would catch or get hung up on the barrel. I had to turn the cylinder by hand because it rubbed on the barrel. These problems were fixed by a gunsmith. I was not going to send it back to Taurus. They couldn't get it right the first time. The rear sight has about 1/32" of play in it from side to side and I could not get the play out of it. To fix this I sighted it in so when the sights are on the play is out of the right side. So if you bump them you just move the sights to get the play out of the right side and you are good to go. When I cleaned the gun for the first time all the orange paint on the front sights came off and I only used Rem oil. Cheap paint? No one says anything about the grips and I suppose if you have never used any other grip you may think these are fine. I think they are junk. They do not fit a human hand. They are very thin from side to side and long from front to back. I dont have small hands and I feel like I'm holding onto an extra wide tongue depressor. Taurus should be ashamed of putting grips like these on a gun. Especially a big gun. I solved the grip problem by installing Houge grips. I bought both the wood and rubber monogrips and have shot with both grips. The wood Houge grips fit so well and it felt so good shooting it I dont really need the Houge rubber ones. But, they are nice to have. I absolutely LOVE them. OK now that everything is working lets get to the gun. It is accurate. I can hold a pretty tight groups at 25 yards. It has a nice trigger pull and I have to say I like the gun now. Would I recommend it? Well, kinda yes and kinda no. I guess if you want to take a chance I would say go for it. The problems with it can be fixed and for the price its not too bad of a gun. It just may need a little work or you might get lucky and get a good one. As for Buds, well as usual what can I say, top notch, very quick, great to deal with and no problems there. Thanks Buds!
