What can I say... it's a Desert Eagle. It's big, it's sweet looking and it's heavy. Does it work 100%? Nope. Does it work most of the time? Yeah. I mean, mostly. It doesn't go fully into battery between rounds, sometimes. But, sometimes it works flawlessly. I still would recommend. It's a dream gun for a lot of people, based on movies that came out when I was a kid. Maybe I'll see if the 50 AE works better!

I finally got my 357 desert eagle! I was super excited when it arrived! I have been wanting to add it to my collection for quite some time. Thanks to budgunshop I was able to scratch that off the bucket list. I haven't shot it yet but I'm sure I'm going to have a good time!

This gun is amazing! Childhood dream gun. The picture is inaccurate though. The gun sent is with the black finish and the picatinny rail on top. Built like a legend!

Upon inspecting this pistol at my FFL and at home, it seems to be built like a tank. That being said, I put 30-40 rounds through it, Geco 158gr JHP and the gun failed to feed more than it didn't. It also seized after that 30-40 rounds and I couldn't clear it without some wood and a mallet banging the slide to the rear. For how expensive these are I hope it's due to break-in. Keep this in mind if you want to shell out the money for one of these.

Great gun came in 2 days with rubber grips and a picatinny rail on top. I'm very pleased with buds service!

My first gun was a DE .357. I paid only $649 plus tax, but those were the days back in 1987. A very interesting design on this gun really sets it apart from typical pistols. It has a rifle style rotating bolt and gas operating system. All steel and therefore quite durable as well. My advice is if you are going to spend this much, spend the extra and get one with a custom finish already applied, like brushed nickel, etc. Magnum Research's bluing leaves a lot to be desired and wears very easily. If I were to buy another one of these I would probably get the 44 version these days. Factory sights are big combat sights and you will want something more precision for accurate shooting. I sold mine for cash way back when and do miss it, but not enough to shell out the price they cost now. I'd much rather have something like a Ruger 44 Alaskan. DON'T SHOOT non jacketed bullets in these, it will clog up the gas system and ruin the barrel.

A:Hi John, Designed in the mid-1980s by Magnum Research Inc (MRI) the Desert Eagle was designed for target shooting, hunting, and Metallic Silhouette competition. It was first manufactured in Israel, by Israel Military Industries (IMI) until 2009. MRI now manufactures the gun in its Minnesota facility. KAHR Arms acquired MRI the following year and remains the current producer of the Desert Eagle.See 1 more answer |

A:I’m not sure what kind of opinions you want. In terms of which caliber is better that is all up to you and what you plan on using the firearm for. I love the 44 magnum, but it costs a lot more to shoot than the 357 magnum. If money is not an issue then that statement doesn’t matter. 357 is a screaming round and is awesome. I don’t know if you’ll be doing any hunting or just “plinking”. The 44 magnum does have more kick to it, of course. If that’s not an issue then hey. -
