well packaged and received with no problems. nicely finished wood and metal surfaces and the gun points well IMHO. functioned perfectly through 50 rounds of 3 dram target loads. very pleased with the shotgun so far!

This is the second 930 Pro I have purchased in the last six months. I now have two that I use in rotation for sporting clays competitions. Great gun. Reliable and soft shooting. I saw a review that mentioned the forearm retainer was wearing out quickly. I have over 2000 rounds thru my first gun, and no problems whatsoever with any parts. I tried all the usual gas guns used in sporting clays...Beretta, Winchester, Browning....and I think this gun is superior to all of them, and at half the price. I shot a 91 this summer in a registered shoot with this gun, and I was only a few birds off HOA, and I am currently in C class. I recommend it!

There is a problem with this gun, and with Mossberg. First let me say that I love this gun. It is great looking and handles like a dream. I did a lot of research before I went with this relatively new gun designed specifically for clay shooting. One of my key requirements was low recoil (bad neck). I shoot better than ever with this beauty. I've gone from a 70% skeet shooter to an 80s (Been shooting skeet once a week for 1 1/2 years.). An over/under friend asked to try it. He shot a 24/25 his first round. He went home and ordered one. Now, here is the problem: after firing about 250-300 Winchester AA #8s the forearm retainer wears down to a flat surface. It is made of plastic, or some poly material. This causes the forearm to come lose after each shot. This in turn causes the barrel to come lose. IMPORTANT... the very same thing is happening to my friends gun. I have replaced the retainer 4 times. And now for Mossberg. I have called their customer service and emailed them to advise them of what is happening. I suggest it is probably a safety issue with the barrel coming lose. Result... I'm talking to the wind. They have ignored the problem saying they have never heard of such a thing and implying I was either nuts, or making it up. IMPORTANT: They told my friend the same thing. Said they never heard of the problem. I talked to 2-3 different people in customer service and supposedly in engineering. I sent them pictures of a warn retainer next to a new one showing the problem. The only involvement they are happy to have is selling me replacement retainers!!! Not sure what this should mean to readers. Again I, and my friend, absolutely love this gun. It shoots like a dream and looks great. And the price from Bud's... fantastic. I just wish Mossberg would stand behind their gun, and with a possible safety issue. (p.s., If anyone at Bud's can help us, please do. If anyone at Bud's can escalate the problems, technical and customer service, to a higher level, like to their HQ, please do.)

Great sporting clays gun, and a lot of gun for the money. never a jam. I shoot 11/8 1300 fps loads and the felt recoil is nothing. the wood is plain and not much to look at, but the gun works and shoots as well or better then gas guns that cost twice as much. I have shot most of the other sporting clays gas guns, and in my opinion this one is the best, regardless of price.

I have always been an O/U fan for shooting skeet and sporting clays, However, now that I'm having a shoulder problem, shooting this soft recoiling semi-auto has made a huge difference in the number of consecutive rounds I can shoot. This gun fit me perfectly right out of the box with no need to use any of the shims provided for stock adjustment. So far I have not had any issues or malfunctions. A great gun for the money.

Have not had chance to shoot yet, but important, positive configuration changes are in the example I received. Both changes address the primary negatives in on-line reviews. First, the tapping for a potential scope is gone. Second, the barrel is not ported. Both elements seemed to be holdovers from the 930 production line intended to keep costs low, but contradicted with the "Pro Sporting" designation of this model. The gun is now in proper clay sporting form. Fit and finish are fine and functional. It's a nice looking gun with the metal better than the wood.....no AA walnut here, but no $$$ for it either. This gun is meant to bust clays, not impress with aesthetics. Minor gripe - no choke wrench, but the Briley custom set is nice (takes internal compression, not slotted wrench). Only bad part was shipping container. Mossberg box was enclosed in a shipping box held together by one length of strapping tape. Susp t issue from distributor, not Bud's proper, but still their quality responsibility.

Wonderful shotgun. My second Mossberg auto and for the money they're a great gun. I've owned all kinds of autos in my life and compared to them these 930's are a good deal. Nice smooth action, quick safety, good looking wood with grip spots. Nice choke system, easy to see what you're using. Can't wait to get this one to the range and field. Spend the money, I think you'll be pleased.

A:Mossberg is a good quality shotgun the pro guns are very underrated the fit and finish is not as good as the beretta and the top of the line remingtons but is on a par with the "field: grade remingtons the biggest drawback to it as a "serious" target gun is the availability of parts because its just not as popular. performance for you will depend on the fit I shoot Remingtons better than the Beretta or MossbergSee 2 more answers |
