No, this will not fit an XD-E. The XD-E is a single stack 9mm, these mags are for the XD striker fired models.

Donald, yes Sor. The top of the magazine is identical to the original as far as insertion and lock in, just longer as you already know. Full size mags work in all the models through subcompact and not the other way around due to subcompact/compact mag shortness in the full size pistols. Happy Holidays and stay safe!

Hey Dennis, this Magazine fits the XD 4". If you are in CA or CT though, it is not legal. CA and CT have a restriction that limits you to 10rd magazines only.

I purchased my new Springfield Armory XD MOD 3, 9mm,from Bud's Guns and wanted an extra 16-round MAG. I don't trust the aftermarket MAG's as I do the Factory OEM MAG's, So I came to Bud's and ordered my OEM Springfield Armory XD Magazine 16RD 9mm Stainless Steel [XD5016]. The MAG fits the gun perfectly as well as compliments the pistol and is great for that day at the range. Now I have two 16-round MAG's for my Springfield XD MOD 3. I even purchased the loader which makes it much easier to load and break in the MAG spring. You just got to have an extra 16-round MAG if you own the XD MOD 3. It gives you 2X the ammo for practicing at the range without having to stop and load. Plus you can't go wrong purchasing from Bud's Guns!

Works perfectly in my Mod3. *Firm* spring, so you may want to use a speedloader to save your fingers, but that's true of any newer magazine.
