Easy purchasing process and a great gun, Buds makes it easy to purchase good firearms

Solid deer shotgun. I used it this deer season and dropped a spike buck at 119 yards (used range finder just before I shot). Do not use Hornady SST 300gr sabot slugs, they are horrible. Accurate out to 50 yards and then accuracy is gone. Used Hornady 325gr and it's dead on. I actually decided to use this Mossberg over my Savage bolt action 12ga slug gun and glad I did. Buds is rock solid, just like always.

The shotgun and buds did a great job. However Mossberg leaves me feeling a but sore. They installed the wrong stock from factory and after it sitting with no stock for a week, I get in the new stock and for some reason they failed to mention I needed to remove the stock retention plate. now its going to be another week. Better know more about the gun then the people you talk to on the phone because 2 CS reps from mossberg missed that important detail.

This gun has a lot of appeal for those who have no firearm option other than slug guns for deer. Autoloader that handles 3 inch shells,, raised cheek rest, 24 inch ported rifled barrel, cantilever scope mount, choices of interchangeable barrels that you can later add, and an affordable price. I was pleasantly surprised with the fit and overall quality of the gun. Although it has a few more parts than other autoloaders I have owned, it has functioned flawlessly. Shells fire every time and get cleanly ejected, landing several feet away. Just to save future buyers some aggravation and money, out of 8 different brands of sabot slugs I tried, with weights ranging from 325g to 1 oz. (including all the popular manufacturers), the ONLY slug I have found that shoots consistently is the Lightfield Hybred-exp 2 3/4 inch, 546g 1450 fps. Also, if you are hoping the autoloader function along with the ported barrel will reduce recoil, sorry to disappoint you. This gun kicks just as hard (or worse) as a pump or a single shot without a ported barrel shooting similar ammo - it just makes a lot more noise!

Terrific gun, great price, and excellent service from Buds as always. With Remington's Premier AccuTip Bonded Slugs, this gun was deadly accurate, performed flawlessly, and produced tremendous knockdown power on whitetail in southeast Iowa and hogs in Texas hill country. Highly recommended!
