Tad, I just did an extrapolation of a M327's 7inch length (from a good clear image) and I come up with a height of 5.5 inches. This is consistent with the S&W frame size.

Instead of "big" "large" etc. can anyone actually measure the 327 snubbie dimensions? S&W, even Genitron has no idea and S&W "will get back to me". Gun stores don't keep them long enough to be bothered with such a question... This news published could be loads of help to many!

How do you utilize the layaway option for this item?

Hi Tad, recoil is actually going to be very similar. I shoot 40 and 38 +P. The revolver just has a sharper recoil impulse than the 40 due to the softer recirc feature of the semi-auto. Any non recirc firearm will do this. Shorter revolver barrel + less weight + non gas recirulation + sharper recoil impulse makes the 2 actually very similar in actual recoil. (I can see the numbers matching if you are talking a stout 357Mag load though).

I once had an m&p 360. With hot loaded 357 magnum loads it would roll back in my hand and take my trigger finger with it. I got rid of that gun because my 500 s&w had less recoil. I have a ruger sp101 in 357 that does fine. The steel frame makes a lot of difference in felt recoil and I won't own another lightweight magnum revolver.

This is going to have massive recoil. It only weighs 21-22ozs and a 357 is a hefty round. Your Glock has a recoil spring to absorb some of the recoil, the revolver doesn't. If you're recoil sensitive, this gun may not be for you.

This little thing is fun and fairly accurate for 2 inch barrel. For being so light it isn't bad to shoot and I've had no crimp jump from hot loads. I did switch the grips out for a rubber monogrip for size more that anything. I had a box of Buffalo Bore heavy 357 that the gun didn't like. The empties we seriously stuck in the cylinder and the bullets keyholed on target. Otherwise it has eaten anything else I have stuffed in it with no issues.

WOW! A beautiful, dependable firearm from S&W. Very lightweight carry revolver, if you are using.357 better hold tight because of the super lightweight it’s all up to you on the recoil. One of my favorite firearms. Only thing was the price was high due to availability, Bud’s seems to be the only place that has them from time to time. I passed it by a few times but finally had to pull the trigger (no pun intended, LOL).

I don't like how the overtravel stop on the back of the trigger mars the black finish on the frame; and I wish Smith and Wesson would have put a better front sight option on this expensive, defensive use revolver. A tritium sight, a gold bead and a fiber optic should at least be factory options for this gun. Smith and Wesson should have also produced a line of holsters for this gun. There are precious few out there that are specifically made for this model. The most prevalent concealment holster for this gun is made of kydex, and it mars the finish on the gun. That deters me from carrying the gun, since where I live, it's rarely cool enough for a cover garment. Bud's is 5 stars; but I can only give this revolver 4 stars.

I've wanted this gun for yrs. I finally was able to get it and I have to say I'm not really impressed with it. The grip is really thin and since it so light, its alot of force coming back at you absorbed only by that thin back strap. Shooting 357 is terrible with the stock grips. I've put new badger grips on but have yet to shoot it since. It's a beautiful gun but honestly that's about the best part of it. I definitely wouldn't say its performance is worth the money. In my opinion its avg- slightly above avg.

Purchased "New" but when I received at the dealer the gun had very clear drag marks all the way around the cylinder, scratches on the cylinder, and a chip off the finish on the backside of the frame behind the trigger. Extremely disappointed.
