I've had this rifle for almost 12 years and still shoots like a charm. One of the most exciting rifles to shoot in the collection and the most accurate. It always shoots true and always shoots, round after round.

Good features for an entry M1A. Capable of better results than this operator, but the iron sights are enabling surprisingly good groups. I’ll never shoot to the gun’s potential, but each range trip is fun and shows some improvement. Some may prefer the wooden stock, but the synthetic version has its pros.

Nice to be able to hold a new solid rifle.
I've yet to shoot it though so I can't comment on how well it shoots.
It's pricey but it's worth it. I wold buy from Bud's again.

I've had this weapon for almost 2 years and I'm not impressed. Springfield talks this weapon up when they sell it and then tell you that you can't expect that that much out of an old battle rifle when you call customer service. The best you can hope for from Springfield is a functional weapon. Do not expect high performance. I've had to retool my MATCH GRADE barrel after the factory retooled it. That is kinda the exact opposite of match grade in my opinion. Next I'm going to have to rework my recoil spring because the weapon barely feeds. I'm just as sorely disappointed in Springfield customer service as I am in the weapon. Both being barely functional. The product does not meet the price tag.

UPS delivered M1A rifle with a cracked hand guard assembly, so either the box slammed into something very hard or was dropped by UPS personnel after it left Buds, and the force hit the muzzle brake first then transferred up to the receiver and cracked the weakest part - the hand guard assembly. Contacted Buds customer service, and they confirmed UPS received the package for delivery to the FFL that I use and trust. End of shipping box where the flash hider is located was torn open upon receipt of rifle. Contacted Springfield Armory and they are sending a new hand guard assembly part# 779286. I thought about refusing the weapon transfer, and could have it sent back, but everything else looked/worked good, smooth and solid at the FFL dealer.

Rifle shoots like a charm. Took from the box straight to the range. 100 yards with iron sights had 5 inch groups. Shoots better than me. Had two slam fires which worry me but I'll look into it. Recoil isn't even noticeable due to the built in recoil pad. I am now a fan of Springfield. An AR cant come close to this.

I wrote a good review for this rifle but Buds website dropped off and l"m not doing it again! Well worth the money! Great rifle!
