Got this for my little 9yr old boy. I cleaned it and took it to the range to sight in before giving it to him on his birthday. Sights needed slight adjustment that was easy to do. Accuracy of this rifle is excellent! Parts quality is as expected in this build class. Being a single shot bolt action youth rifle, it's a perfect training tool for proper use of the rifle. Once loaded the bolt needs to be cocked before the trigger becomes active, thus minimizing accidental discharge when the weapon has a round in the chamber. Safety features on this rifle are well thought out. Youth sizing is great for little people learning proper rifle use. Accessories and replacement parts are available, easy to find, and are fair in price. Service life will be longer than the rifle will fit the little person. Scopes and red dots are also available for this model.

Bought this as a first gun for my nephew and so far he loves it and never wants to put it down. Couldn't ask for a better starting gun.

These are nice, but the kids quickly out grow them. I was glad to get them for each of my boys when they turned 7. I think it will be cool when they pass them on to their kids. The cocking before firing adds a level of safety that I liked and encouraged good habits. I’d recommend the crickett for a really young shooter possibly 5 or 6, but not for an older 7,8,9 shooter. As a legacy item that will get passed on for generations it’s cool. Quality is very good.

Awesome gun. Bought for my two boys as their first gun. Already had my 2 1/2 year old shooting it. I recommend this gun for little kids. Simple and easy to use.

Fantastic gun for the youth shooter. Much easier to shoulder and aim than the kinds of .22 rifles most of us grew up with. Oddly fun and satisfying to shoot as an adult, too!

We haven't fired it yet, but the design is very safe.

I received the rifle in a short time, and my grandson is chomping at the bit to start his experiences with firearms.
This is a perfect starter rifle for a young boy.
