This is a top-notch pistol! I'm a lefty with average-sized hands and the grip fits me like a glove. Points naturally and shoots straight at 25 yards with that 5" line-of-sight barrel. Quality construction with an easy take-down for cleaning. I found the ambidextrous mag release button almost impossible to reach and push with my left thumb without changing my grip...weak thumbs? Steel mags hold 13 cartridges + one in the chamber - that's a LOT of .45 ACP firepower! This pistol works for me. Kudos to Bud for their excellent service.

This is a fine weapon from Springfield Armory. I have the same thing in 9mm as well and I couldn't be happier with both the .45 ACP and the 9mm. Buds is incredible and I am a customer for life. This was my first transaction witht them and they were incredible. I ordered on a Weds. and the gun was at my local FFL by the following Mon. The gun came with the whole enchilada XD kit, was brand new as advertised, functions perfectly and is incredibly accurate. I also own a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry 1911 .45ACP so I know quality when I shoot it and this Springfield is no slump when it comes to the Poly guns of today. Grab one from Buds if you can!!

This gun is amazing!! took it to FrontSight 2 day handgun class and it shot amazing right out of the box. if you buy any gun make it this one springfield armory is the real deal!!!

After searching locally and all over the web for the best deal on a big brother for my XD 9mm, I finally decided on Bud's for my new XD 45 Tactical. Talk about service!! I ordered on a Sunday night and mailed my money order on Monday morning (I wanted to save that 3% for ammo!). On Wednesday I received email confirmation that my gun was in the shipping department and on Friday my FFL called to tell me the XD had arrived!!!! (It don't get no better than that!!!!). Now for the gun: It arrived in perfect condition, with all the XD gear included, and was exactly what I expected it to be - another excellent product from Springfield Armory. I did have to wait a week before finally getting an opportunity to fire the weapon, but once I did, I was impressed. FMJ and hollow-points both performed flawlessly. VERY accurate handgun with tight groups at 25 feet, 50 feet, and even exploded a gallon water jug at 100 feet with no problem!!!! If you are considering a .45 ACP that won't cost you an arm & 3 legs, then this is the one!!!!
