Made for the very serious business of self-preservation the 605 is built to the Taurus Zero Tolerance standard in design, fabrication, fit and performance. Meaning there is simply no tolerance for parts that do not perform as if someone's life depends on them. Using the powerful .357 Magnum ammo this quick-draw revolver has plenty of muscle to back it up. Features include fixed sights, crisp single-double action trigger and a transfer bar for added safety.

Overall buds was good, the 605 shoots pretty good, very accurate at 20 yards for a snubby, grips are excellent. I do not like the matte finish though, going to take time to break it in. Fit and finish is ok but
side plate could of been fit a lot better there are some ugly gaps. I had owned a polished 605 made in the 90's and fit and finish was much nicer. Performance wise it had no issues i ran full power loads
and 38 with no issues, then i ran 100 of my lead reloads which I was surprised it digested them no problem and did not cause cylinder to bind. i noticed the cylinder gaps have gotten larger over the years
due to complaints of buildup jamming them. Also noticed now with trigger pulled and hammer down the firing pin is fully extended, they used to be a rebounding type that used inertia to strike the primer.
That was another issue that plagued the early 605's. I'm glad to see its been resolved but wish they would work on fit and finish a little. For the price its a very good compact carry gun but i almost would
prefer a Rossi over the Taurus sadly....

Typically when I think of revolvers I think either Ruger or Smith & Wesson. I have a Ruger LCR that weighs 13.5 oz that I was hoping my wife would be able to shoot and control, but it is simply to light for her to control and shoot with any accuracy. I was looking for something with a little more weight, but I really didn't want to spend $550-$700. I came across this Taurus 605 and after taking it to the range I was pleasantly surprised. A stainless steel .357 for $300 is outstanding value. I wasn't really expecting much to be honest, but it is built much more solid than what I expected and shooting .38 & .38+P was very comfortable. My wife was able to control it and she was able to shoot it accurately. Comparing the Taurus side by side with a Ruger or SW revolver, it is obvious it is not refined and not in the same class as the other two, but it cost far less and performs as expected. I would not hesitate purchasing this revolver. Bud's has the best online selection and prices are always competitive.

Bud's was great as always! Took my new Taurus 605 to the range today and it functioned very well. Nice smooth trigger and it shot 110gr Winchester USA ammo right to point of aim. I like the new grip shape better too.

Got this pistol after considering Smith and Wesson's in 38 Special. I am very pleased with the Taurus 605. Fit and Finish is great. Everything feels smooth and feels tight. I am glad I got a 357 instead of 38 only. Shot about 10 rounds of 357 with weak hand, no problems. You can definitely feel the extra kick of 357 though. All and all, don't be afraid of Taurus. This is the second Taurus revolver I own, no problems from either. Great little pistol.
