The Kimber Custom sets the performance standard for production 1911 pistols. Models are offered with a choice of fixed, adjustable or night sights, and in matte or polished finishes. Both carbon steel and stainless steel versions are available. Common features include the Kimber Firing Pin Safety,™ designated by “II” in the model name, along with rounded and blended edges for comfortable carry. Barrels, barrel bushings, chambers and triggers are all machined to exacting match grade dimensions. Ejection ports are lowered and flared, and sights are mounted in dovetails machined into the slide. Chamberings include .45 ACP, 9 mm, 10 mm and 38 Super.

I bought this pistol in November of 2015 and it was delivered to my dealer in about ten days. Overall the Kimber Stainless II Target was well finished and had a good trigger pull but it was only supplied with one magazine and the backstrap/mainspring housing was made of a very CHEAP looking plastic. I would have thought that a $900 pistol would have delivered more for the money ... but ... sorry I was disappointed. My Springfield Armory 1911's are a step above than this gun and are less expensive. Kimber should be ashamed!!!

Surprisingly my "Target II" needed trigger work to be anything close to a target pistol. A set of Wolf springs helped considerably, but I'll have to go in for some stone work on the hammer and sear to get it light and crisp enough. It also fails to stay open on the last shot sometimes- I think that's a magazine issue. There seems to be a lot of up and down play in the mag well. Otherwise a very nice pistol.
