Finally got one! After hearing and reading about this pistol for decades I can definitely say "Yes, it was well worth the wait!" Name the feature and the answer is "it's the best"! Period. The question is can the shooter's skills bring out the best this pistol can do? You owe it to yourself to get one and find out!

This is quite possibly the Hidden Gem of semi custom 1911 pistols. While it might not be the most flashy with all of the cool cosmetic upgrades like some other manufacturer's build, everything about this weapon is quality and it has been 100% reliable over thousands of rounds throughout the several years I've owned it. These aren't the easiest to come across right now but if you can get your hands on one buy with confidence you won't be sorry. I own several 1911's including a very high dollar one from a custom manufacturer. I put this one right up there with that one that cost me a couple thousand more than this one did and the Springfield holds its own and more often than not is the one I find in my holster. My only negative about the pistol is the finish could be a bit more durable but that's not a big deal and it will eventually get refinished anyhow. Even with that being the case it hasn't had any issues with rusting even though it shows significant holster wear after carrying it for several years and after what probably amounts to tens of thousands of times of drawing and reholstering. In closing I must say I really like the checkering on the front strap and back strap of this gun. Very well done. Even after thousands of rounds this gun runs 100% reliably and locks up like a bank vault. I can't get over how well the parts are fitted. The slide is like it's on ball bearings. There's nothing but quality here guys and it's worth every dime.

Very accurate even with cheap Winchester white box. Out of the box, to the range worked flawlessly.

The gun is beautiful, everything I expected. It's even better when you know the history of the FBI contract. I have bopught many guns from Buds, all have been hassle free. I would highly recommend Buds!

This is my first custom made firearm and I am certainly not disappointed. It's accuracy is only limited by my shooting capabilities. My best 3 shot group so far at 50 feet with 2 hand grip while standing is 2 1/4 inches. I have shot a lot of 1911's dating all the way back to 1968, and as far as I can remember that's my best group, ever. The fit and finish is superb. Barrel bushing is so tight that disassembly is a bit difficult. Absolutely tight fit between slide and frame with zero movement (and that's no matter how hard you try to wiggle it). Whats the best thing going on here?: THE TRIGGER!!! It is hard to describe and I can't really relate to any of the on-line buzz words like crisp, or breaks like glass, etc. But to me there's just one way I can describe it "perfect". If there's a negative, well it's the price of course. It's a lot of cash for a pistol and I struggled with the decision, but now that I've had it in hand I would spring for the cost again in a heartbeat. If you want a real jewel don't think about it any longer, go for it! You will not regret it. A shout out to Buds easy, fast, and professional (just like the gun).

I cherish having this fine weapon. I have Wilson Combat 1911s as well. This one is special; Bud’s was excellent too.
