Gun was MSRP at $669. Paid $100 less through Buds!! First purchase from Buds, Very happy with online ordering. About the weapon: Special Edition M&P40L LONG SLIDE NS I had been looking for a home defense and target pistol. After some range time, I decided on this pistol. Not at all disappointed!! Put through 300 rounds on day one. No issues.

i wanted to start this review off talking about buds layaway. i chose this option back in september and paid on the account 2 seperate times. each time i called in to make a payment, the representative was very pleasant and knowledgable. answered all my questions promptly. i was worried that since the item sold out i may have to go with another option, but i wasn't expecting them to pull my item that first day and reserve it for me. i was hopeful that was the situation, but not sure. trust me, buds has your back. i'm very pleased with my purchase of this limited edition pistol. field stripped it at my FFL to inspect the internals and they were immaculate. even for a brand new gun, the piece has very smooth action. this gun feels really nice in my hand and can't wait to take it to the range so i can give a 500 round range report. thanks again Buds

Ordered Monday, at Preferred FFL Wednesday, Shot Thursday. On the third magazine, shooting bowling pins at the fifty yard line. Give your Glocks away, use your revolvers as hammers and don't pass on the Smith and Wesson M&P .40 Long Slide. Excellent Smith and Wesson and Buds. Thanks!

The gun showed up fast as always. When I see people complain about slow delivery I wonder if they are using the Preferred FFL Dealers. My ffl usually has the gun in about 4-5 days from order. The pistol was great. I think I need to adjust the sites, but I had groupings that were sometimes too tight to count. There was some minor wear when I disassembled the gun. A S&W rep explained that the gun goes through testing, it is fired, and something about it being connected to some type of computer simulation and other testing. Basically, he was saying that the gun is not just assembled and shipped. The wear seemed reasonable based on the explanation. I was talking to him about field stripping and I didn't call about the wear. The appearance of the pistol is great. No failures with 50 Remington rounds from Walmart. My wife loved shooting it. Now she wants her own M&P. She has only tried 22 lr before this 40. I think its a great purchase. Recommend it to all.
