Great pistol, low bore axis. Kinda thick like a Beretta PX4. Get used to the glockish grip angle and the trapezoidal sights and you have a true and accurate extension of your arm!

The Steyr is an awesome firearm! No one issue. I would buy this firearm again. Thanks to Gurney and the crew at Buds for another winner!

I was torn between the FN compact and the Steyr S-A1 and the more I shoot the Steyr the more I like it. Very accurate very comfortable to shoot. The only drawback is finding a good holster for it. I prefer leather OTW and they are tough to find for this gun. That said I would buy this gun again in a heartbeat. I've purchased from Buds a couple of times and have no complaints.

As usual great service and delivery and price from Buds. I am totally in love with this handgun. I have read about Steyr's for years and always wanted one. Could never find one locally at a decent price so I grabbed one from Buds. It is a perfect fit in my hand and its one of those guns that just feels "right" when you pick it up. Even though this is a compact version my hand still is able to fit all 4 fingers around the grip which is unusual for me. I would need a pinkie extension on a lot of the compacts. Like others I was a bit leery about the trapezoidal sights but after a single range session, I was firing more accurately than any handgun I have ever fired. The sights just work. I don't have to search to line up the dots. My eyes just focus at the proper place automatically. The only negative would be the lack of night sights in this style. Hopefully Steyr will come out with a set. You may be worried about getting a compact in .40, but that should not hold you back when considering this gun. Very little snap and I was able to keep my sights on target at all times. The ability to get your hand so high up and in line with the bore keeps the recoil on this on par with a 9mm. Don't hesitate on this one. A great handgun and one I will never ever part with.

Bud's delivered again....... I love the A1's, I have six STEYR handguns and love them all. I love the sights. STEYR A1's are very low recoiling and the this little gem shines in this respect, great for a compact. The compact grip is great, I comfortably have a full grip on this gun ( no mag extension ) as opposed to the baby glocks. Uses the same magazines as the other handguns in the caliber so that is a bonus as well. I cannot say how much I love these handguns...... I have owned and shot about anything you can think of in caliber or type of handgun and in my opinion, STEYR builds the best striker fired pistol made.......I know, I know... Glock is a good gun too, ( I own Glock's as well ) but since Both had the same designer, I think the little brother got better upgrades.

What an awesome pistol. worked flawlessly with first100 rounds shot. Lock up was super tight prior to said rounds. smoothed out with the 100 rounds. 1 inch groups, 3 rounds at 7 yards easily repeatable. Buy one, you won't regret it! serious fun.

Love the Steyr it is a great CCW weapon and the looks I get at the gun range are great. Everyone that see's it shoot wonders what it is and when I tell them it is a Steyr the next question is where is it made. Once they shoot it they want one themselves and I have to say the gun eats anything you put in it. Great service from Bud's.

Excellent firearm. Fit and finish is second to none. Everything is smooth and tight. Trapezoidal sites are amazing and easy to get on target. Ejection of spent casings is a little erratic but is starting to straighten out. Very comfortable in the hand and felt recoil is minimal. Would recommend this firearm to anyone looking for something a little different to add to their collection!

Awesome handgun, this has a quick target acquisition and natural feel in your hand. Great to do business with Buds, great customer service. Best feeling handgun I own.
