This is my second Phoenix Arms pistol. My other is a .25 ACP which I really like. This .22 LR has functioned great. I have already put over 100 rounds of several different kinds of ammo through it with only a few hiccups. These little guns shot very accurate and are well built. I like the weight they have and I use the magazine with the finger extension for a good grip. They can't be beat for the price. I have heard all of the bad reports, but so far I have only experienced the fun of shooting a well made .22 semi-automatic for very little cost. TSW

Shoots good for the price. Way too many safety%uFFFD%uFFFDs, must have been designed by a lawyer! Very hard to reassemble because of the way the springs sets. Would suggest you buy the extra springs. They are cheap and you will probably lose one or two.

Very happy with this HP22. Great to find something so affordable and American made, too. Feels good in the hand, shoots very accurately. Fifty rounds, no issues at all. Read the manual, note that they do have lifetime warranty but I believe you have to fill out the registration card.

Please don't consider this or any .22 pistol as primary carry gun. I would recommend the HP22 as a backyard shooter or introductory pistol for first time shooters. As with any inexpensive gun, I recommend light shooting sessions - don't try to put 300 - 500 rounds through it in a day. I don't believe firearms like this were designed or intended for more than 100 rounds at a session.

If you can find it (currently out of stock) you might want to consider getting two. If something does go wrong you've already got a full set of spare parts (and an extra magazine), or you've got one to shoot while waiting on a repair from Phoenix Arms.

Field stripping and reassembly is a bit tricky - I don't think any owner can avoid the game of "find the spring." Read the manual, it has good step-by-step for this process. Note that extra springs and all other parts are available from Phoenix

Buds delivery was great, even during their blizzard conditions, arrived at my FFL only 3 days after ordering.

Pistol looked great and was in perfect condition especially for only paying $129.00. However, I did read the reviews but decided to purchase one anyway. My friends phoenix shoots great with 1070-1150fps loads and continues to shoot well. I shot my first 20-30 rounds and all was well but then the pistol started malfuntioning. I released the hammer, chambered a new round and fired another catridge but the hammer seems to be stuck not allowing the trigger to release rendering it unfireable. Im not sure if something broke or was damaged but phoenix will be getting a call. I will follow up with a report back to everyone on how this turns out. The gun is a great size and shot straight when it worked but now has machanical issues. This is the first firearm I ever purchased with any problems but I did pay far more for my others, ALOT MORE! lol
