This is a beautiful hunting gun! Very nice wood, awesome looking twisted barrel, and very solid break-open action. The extractor is built nicely and performs flawlessly. The trigger has a slight creep but breaks easily at 4.5-5 lbs. With little polishing, I can certainly make this trigger even lighter. I was always hesitant to get a cheap rifle with a break-open action. Not with this gun though. It is built like a tank weighting about 7.5 lbs! Now that I have seen this Baikal up close, I wouldn't hesitate to get another one in a larger caliber like the 30-06! The open sights came from the factory dead on at 50 yards. That's basically my limit for shooting accurately with open sights. I put a little 3-12 scope on this gun with see-through rings, and it shoots 2-3 inches groups at 200 yards. You can't beat that for a rifle at this price range. The gun can handle heavier and longer bullets. I was very surprised about this. I thought the gun had a 1:10 twist rate. But I measured it and it has 1:8.25. Good enough to stabilize 105/107 gr BTHP bullets. Excellent gun for the price, great value! And of course as always, Buds has outstanding service.
