I was unpleasantly and unexpectedly surprised by the condition of the firearm when I received it. The listing states "New In Box" but when I picked it up it looked like someone had taken the gun and racked the slide 100x and put just as many rounds through it before they shipped it out. It was "New In Box" in the fact that it came in the factory packaging but I'd say that's the only thing it had going for it. Stupidly I accepted the transfer before I noticed all of the scratches on the slide next to the ejection port; some can argue it's a "high-ware" area or what not, but for a $1500 handgun it should be immaculate right out of the box. P.S. The KimPro Finish on this gun is s*#&, don't buy it if you plan on it staying "like new" very long; the bottoms of the slide rails have already started to wear through the black finish and are showing the silver underneath after only 150 rounds. Completely unacceptable for a gun of this caliber. (no pun intended)

The Kimber Super Carry Pro HD is an all-around perfect model 1911 pistol for concealed carry, or any other carry you can think of. Made of all stainless steel it has the heft and feel of a "real" handgun, not some lightweight imposter. It feels as if it could withstand any abuse and last a lifetime. The rounded heel on the grip is something that fits my hand perfectly, and I wish that other manufacturers would offer similar treatment. The grip is secure with no slipping or sliding. The fit and finish is high quality throughout. The black finish on the stainless steel seems very resistant to wear. I have only had the firearm less than a year, but it shows no sign of wear from my Galco Avenger belt holster, nor the Galco shoulder holster. The pistol came with only one 8-round Kimber magazine, and it performs with no problems, but I replaced it with Wilson Combat magazines for complete confidence that every round will feed properly. Nothing against Kimber, I use Wilson magazines exclusively in all my 1911s. The tritium night sights are outstanding and easy to use in any lighting conditions. I have had no FTFs when using various Winchester .45ACP ammunition. I liked the Pro HD so much, that I ordered its full-sized older brother, the Super Carry Custom (5" barrel). This is my go-to carry pistol for all occasions and I recommend it without exception. Just be aware that it has some weight to it, so if you are worried about that I might suggest choosing a non-HD model. But for me, I like the fact that when I pull the pistol, it feels that I have a real weapon at my beckon and call.
