This 1911 was my second one that i have owned. First was a Colt that i had a lot of issues with. After owning one of the top 1911's, and having problems with it i went in the other direction and bought a cheaper one in this Girsan. First impressions of seeing it and the feel of it were really really good. The grips look a lot better than what i thought they would from the picture. Was very surprised by the grips. Went today and fired 100 rounds through it using the ACT Mag that it comes with, and a second ACT Mag i purchased from Buds. On the very first clip the 3rd round i had a failure to Eject after that not one issue. I plan on going back soon to shoot a few hundred more. My only complaints with it are the sights are all black and are kind of hard to see, and the finish looks nice , but i have already got a couple of nicks on it easily. So it will be interesting to see how the finish holds up. For the price it can't be beat. I would put this 1911 up against ones that go for 3 times what i bought this one for any day. Thanks to Buds for offering it at such a great price with the option to make an offer.

This pistol is a prime example of the old saying, "You get what you pay for". I wanted to check out the Girsan and ordered the tactical 1911. It is reasonably accurate and the finish is nice. However, the Girsan will not function with the standard mil spec magazines that work fine in my Rock Island, Springfield, and Colt. Additionally, the slide release is extremely difficult to use with a magazine in the pistol. I attributed these issues to bad luck on my part in that I assumed mine to be an exception until a friend who bought a Girsan within days of my purchase said he was going to order an extra magazine. I suggested he try some of my magazines to ensure that he picked a brand that would work well in his 1911. He tried my magazines from Chip McCormick, Colt, Springfield and Mec-Gar. None of these worked in his pistol. I will not be keeping this pistol. I will stick to Rock Island for more economical 1911s.

I purchased this pistol about three months ago. Until today all I had done was disassemble, clean it and put it back together. My initial impression was of overall good quality, especially the slide fit and the general smoothness of operation. Today I put 50 rounds through the pistol at about 40 feet. I should point out that I am not the worlds greatest pistol shot. If I can keep it on a pie plate at that distance I feel pretty good. Today, with the Girsan, the first 25 rounds went in a 4" circle without any failure to feed or fire issues. I used the second 25 rounds to pop a plastic bouncing target with equal success. This this is the best shooting pistol that I own and a complete surprise to me considering the price. I am pleased with the purchase and the service and shipping from Bud's. Don't let the low price fool you. These pistols are shooters.

Very Clean and Very well made. I was surprised to see this gun is flawless. I have handled and owned a few other 1911s including both ATI and Colts. For the price of this gun its well worth it. Its tighter and cleaner than the ATI,s or Rock Islands and it feels like a high end Colt. Its the perfect halfway for those who enjoy collecting 1911s for that old-school look and feel and those who enjoy a more tactical modern look of the weapon. It also comes with a case and cleaning supplies which you don't get with the ATI. You just cant beat a good looking 1911. And as always Buds Shipping was flawless.

The firearm is nice. However the front sight is too high making it shoot low. I have run since I bought it over 500 rounds and still I am experiencing FTE and stove pipe. The main reason seems to be the ACT MAG and other 1911 magazines like MCGEAR. I finally bought TRIPRESEARCH magazines and added a stronger recoil spring (16 lbs.) Since then, it is running much better. Finally the magazine release button is stiff, which is a pain when using this pistol in IDPA.
