Lowers buffer retaining pin was mis drilled to far rearward. As action cycled buffer would strike pin. Ultimately broke pin off jamming trigger. AR57 knew of problem and replaced it no questions asked. Lower replacement had machining marks and forging pits.

I'm a big fan of AR-57 uppers and have several of thier lowers. I had one lower purchased back at the height of the AR demand craze that had improper machining of the bolt hold button slots. AR-57 customer service was great and they more that took care of my issue. I would recommend them anyone.

This a great lower and a solid foundation to your AR build. I purchased my lower last February during the height of the gun buying frenzy and although this brand was relatively new it has proven to me to be a winner! I am aware of some issues with this lower around the time of my purchase but mine is perfect, and from what I have heard the company stood by the defective lowers and the customers that purchased them. I am extremely happy with my lower it has a beautiful finish, the pictograms are out standing; as are the roll marks as a whole. The lower parts kit installed without a hitch and the description doesn't mention it but it comes with a pre drilled upper tensioning screw feature. The screw itself doesn't come with it I had to purchase that separately, but it is nice that you have that option. I would defiantly recommend this lower to my friends and others.

The receiver is out of spec in the bolt catch area. You will have to buy a 9mm colt catch and modify it yourself. These receivers should not be sold or at least have a disclaimer about the bolt catch since not everyone is a novice smith.

I bought 3 of these lowers. I find them to be great. The only thing I had to do was drill the buffer pin hole a little. I bought the cheapest lower parts kit I could find. The parts kit went in so easy. I bought an Bushmaster AR-15 Moe M4. I compared the bushmaster lower to the one I built and seen no difference. I put the lower I just built on my new bushmaster and it fit just fine. Now I'm looking to build an upper as cheep as I can using all good parts. I still have 730.00 to spend to catch up to what I paid for the bushmaster. Remember your building a gun and you will run into a few problems that you will have to take care of. If you don't feel you can do that. You should just buy one that someone else put together.

I bought this lower receiver a couple weeks ago to build a Palmetto upper. I waited until I was done to do this review and I wish others would also. This receiver is junk. The bolt hold open area is off and will not catch magazine follower to hold bolt open. I thought maybe I had a short or bad bolt catch so I bought several different brands including a Colt. None of them worked the receiver is off about a 1/6 of an inch. The tang will not catch the follower on any brand of magazines. Please look at buying a different lower receiver this one is junk. I am out 100 bucks plus a transfer fee. I hope this will help someone out before they make the same mistake I did. If I could post pictures here I would. Buds was great as always and I will continue to buy from them.

Arrived nicely finished and unblemished in any way. Accepted the LPK I had on hand from Palmetto without a hitch. Would (and may) purchase another from Bud's. Very satisfied with all aspects of the purchase and their customer service is excellent.

I love this lower! Everything fit perfect for my build, using a PSA lower parts kit and BCM Upper & bolt carrier assy. Outstanding finished firearm!
