Item came as described, but with much much more finish wear than the picture represented. I am actually impressed at how much paint is missing from this pistol. However the magazine that came with the pistol was total junk. Surface rust, baseplate was so smashed up it couldn't be removed and the plastic follower was broken. I understand that these were poor condition, but 100% functionality might be a stretch considering I received a broken magazine. Pistol seems functionally fine though.

I was eyeing this listing for a couple months after i had such a good experience with my last cz surplus purchase from Bud's. They dropped the price a bit and i jumped on it. I paid for and expected a pretty rough pistol. I received a 92 pre-b that i would say is fair to good. I was so shocked at how good it looked when i picked it up, I kicked myself for not buying 2. This is twice now that Bud's came through with a great deal and my cz collection just keeps growing. Shoots great, this one actually accepts regular 75b mags, bore has some slight pitting but it was still shooting 1 ragged hole group at 7yds. Better get one while you still can! I'll be ordering another one..

This gun was purchased strictly as a refinish project so I harbored no allusions as to what I might receive when I ordered a surplus, poor condition model that was only assured to function. I think about the worst of it was the barrel, which looks to have some corrosion in the bore. The rest appeared to be in pretty solid shape apart from a missing front sight. I was already planning to remove and replace it anyway. The gun functioned alright with a couple of FTE/FTF that I would attribute to old springs. They'll be replaced as part of the refurb anyhow. So, where some seem to fret about having Buds select their surplus for them my opinion is that if I take one of the Poor Condition units I really have to expect that it will need plenty of love. And, as a raw, project piece, you do what you can with what you start with. Buds shipped the order promptly and I have no complaints whatsoever.

My 1987 pre b had a poor finish and slight trigger problem. It was an easy fix. I love this gun. For some reason mec gar 16 round mags fit my pre b great without modifications.

The item in question was exactly what I expected and as represented in the description, 1 pre-B CZ75 surplus in 'poor' condition and certified operable. My intent with this purchase is as a beginning, low-investment refinishing project to sort of cut my teeth on. The gun had obviously been cleaned and given a basic level of service by someone along the surplus transition line. It looked like new sear parts were installed, maybe a new trigger pin, new magazine latch/release. I would also guess that some or all springs had been replaced with OEM parts. This all made good sense. Out of the box the pistol ran fine for testing purposes. The magazine that came with, while functional, does not like to stay in place under recoil or even hand cycling most of the time. But it does technically work. There was really no original finish remaining but, the front site is wiggly, and the grips are in pretty tough shape. The bore looks great and it all seems to lock up tight and shoot plenty accurately despite that front sight. None of these are gripes or disappointing as far as I'm concerned. The 16-round mags from my CZ75 Omega worked just fine. I don't feel that anything was misrepresented by this and it was what I was looking for; a low cost, operable gun that is in need of some serious TLC. It's obviously been carried hard and looked after poorly. It'll be a great project for refinishing, get some work done to accept a new front sight, new grips, some new mags. When done we'll have a great looking/shooting Pre-B!

A:I've found them to use what I can only guess are the worst ones for photo. I think this way we are all pleasantly surprised with what we actually get. But no two are ever the same obviously. This may be the only one with a spur problem, or it may be the whole lot. Its all pot luck here.See 1 more answer |
