I fell in love with the 1911 when I was in the Marine Corps back in 1978 (just turned 18) I don't know why I waited so long to buy one for myself. But the wait was well worth it. Outside of my online account with Buds, they don't know me and I do not get receive anything from them. I can not say enough about this gun or the buying experience I have had with Buds over the years. The action is smooth, the sights are good and it shoots straight and accurate. The grips are awesome for me but not everyone is the same hand size or the same hand strength find what works for you. The weight is not bad at all, every 45 has a kick as it should to keep you honest and remind you of what you are shooting. I love Springfield and the quality of the 1911. When I camp and pan for gold in the forest, the 1911 comes with me "always, no exception" because I trust it and it is reliable. I honestly have no cons about this Springfield 1911 (the only con unrelated to the Springfield itself, depending on where you live Ammo is not cheap anymore)

I bought this gun about 8 years ago and it's still my most favorite gun. It's heavy enough that it stays on target without an issue. Very accurate. Using it for home defense. Alittle too heavy to carry.

Awesome gun, heavy enough that it's easy to shoot but doesn't cause fatigue. Even my wife loves to shoot this gun. Grip and finish work great, has never jammed or stove piped ever. This is by far my favorite "heavy" gun to shoot. Easy to clean too even though it does require a tool for breakdown. I would buy this gun over and over again.

The front tritium sight was “dead” when it came in, but a call to Springfield and they quickly resolved the issue. After a few mods, I carried it as my duty weapon until retirement.

I wanted a 1911 style pistol, but after reading too many horror stories about Colt's quality control and even worse customer service, I looked at alternatives made in the US. Springfield had great reviews, and a friend of mine had bought one of their mil-spec 1911's when they first came out. I remember it as a very nicely built gun, and it shot very well. He later sold it, and today he kicks himself for that decision. It was a FFL who first told me about Bud's, so I shopped here and got the best price. I wanted a 1911 with a steel frame, and the little bit of trade-off in weight between an alloy frame and a steel frame is simply not worth the sacrifice in overall long-term strength you get from steel. If I spend money on a firearm, I want it to still be around and in good shape for when my grandson inherits it. When my Springfield PX9109LP 1911 Loaded 7+1 45ACP 5" Package arrived at the FFL's store, I examined it. Fit and finish was perfect. I love a deep blue in any gun as much as anyone, but I also know from long experience that a Parkerized finish will hold up a very long time, which is why the military used that type of finish. My Springfield is absolutely gorgeous, and all who have seen it are envious. It has all the bells and whistles most people would want in a 1911. The only change I made to mine was to replace the flat mainspring housing with an arched one that includes a beveled magwell as a one-piece unit. People vary, but I like the feel of a arched mainspring housing in my hand. I cannot praise this handgun enough! Thanks Bud's!

Springfield has come a long way since they first introduced their 1911 series and this is by far one of their best models. This gun has all the bells and whistles already included that you would normally pay a customizer to install. Novak style low mount dove tail night sights, ambidextrous safety, beveled mag well, beautiful wood grips, skeletonized commander hammer and aluminum trigger, believe me when I tell you that I bought an original springfield 1911 in stainless and by the time I added the same parts this gun already has, It cost me at least another 600-700 dollars easily. This gun as well as Bud's service, Excellent.
