Fantastic shotgun fresh out of the box. It was covered with some kind of lubricant to protect it from rust but a cleaning got rid of it. Action isnt very stiff and Buds got it to my ffl in record time as always.

First impressions of this shotgun, very nice wooden furniture. Wooden stock and forearm is very nicely sanded and is smooth, with a noce stain too. Nice smooth pump action right out of the box no complaints, which is what I expect from Mossberg and wasn't disappointed in the least. First shots at clay pigeons and as expected worked flawlessly. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

I echo other reviewer comments - unfortunately my 500 had a lot scratches on the receiver that were hidden by some shipping coating. When cleaned they really stand out. It's a workhorse gun I get it - but would rather have banged it up myself. Check yours closely if that bothers you.
